No. The stitch. The one I chose in place of eyelet. Much quicker, same appearance, but not easier for me. I never got past the A on Mary Ann after four attempts. Continually went off one linen thread, very difficult for me to go over four in one leap. If the first poke was bottom left over two to center, then top right over two to center, I would have the four thread boundary and the rest would cross over that center, hiding it. Sounds like a plan. Some other time Mary Ann. Don't even want to elaborate on the latest blow to the sister situation. No patience.
On top of that, I started the Pilocarpine and my drug sensitive old body is palping fast, hot as hell, and head is pounding. Lowest dose but cutting in half now until my body adjusts. More frustration is not welcome. Smyrna the city is more enticing by the hour.
So what will I work on? This. Seriously?
Why the hell? I do not like frequent color changes (27 of them), do not like script lettering (there it is), do not like light linen (required to show thread), and there is eyelet. Am I deliberately torturing myself? Or pretending I'm someone else to escape? Bizarro world of stitching? Makes no sense, but I plan to choose between Vellum and Latte and give it a go.
I enlarged the legend to see the 27 symbols better, cut/glued/highlighted to a smaller and easy to display reference.
Sunday will post the Ann Stone chart giveaway.
Enjoy your weekend folks!

That chart with all the color changes looks like torture to me. Are you sure you really want to stitch it???
Sure wish you felt better and also had no streesful situation in your life like you're dealing with.
Hi Marly: Interesting design, wow the color changes, I am hoping that you are able to make it your own as you have in past designs, you have a gift for making changes, I am not as bold.
Hope you are having great weather it was 47 degrees in South Dakota (southern part of that state) it is going to warm up here today and for several days, I am tired of winter already.

I like all the color changes less and less as I get older! I think that's why I love stitching Prairie Schooler designs so much--reliable and the same colors in most charts :)
Sounds like the mess with Carole's situation just keeps getting worse. And dealing with everything while adjusting to your new meds sound awful. Hope you find something soothing to stitch, Marly--or just go eat some chocolate. ♥

Wouldn't a design more symmetrical and low in color count be more soothing while sitting back and stitching? This one looks like one would be a glutton for punishment to try it even under good circumstances. Your call. So sorry the sister saga continues. You are the crown jewel in your family. Try having a relaxed weekend and here is hoping the meds
will do their work with the adjustment. Blessings.
27 different colors?? In that relatively small sampler? And given your penchant for changing colors up?? Eee gads. Any particular color of big girl panties you are partial to? I'll get some out to you asap...hopefully they will arrive before you embark on this madness. ~Robin~ (PS...love that vellum... I pulled that for a project I was contemplating at one point...gee...wonder what I did with it....)
I like the new sampler and I think ALL the color changes would make it interesting...but that's me and it probably would make me crazy to stitch it!
Marly, you should go for it! What ever makes you happy! I’m so sorry that things are going so badly for Carole, and thus you, when she was in such a wonderful place. I hope you start to feel better and can relax and enjoy the new stitch, despite it’s color changes! Cherie in WI
Wow that are a lot of colors and I think you will change the very light ones into darker colors.
At first I didn't see the very light letters and thought there were empty spaces in the sampler.
Hope the new medicins will help and you will feel better and so sorry about the trouble with your sister.
Sending lots of love and prayers to you and have a peaceful weekend, Truus from Holland
Oh Dear on the latest Carole care development. Sorry about your reaction to the new medication. I hope the reactions settle down soon so the medication can do its thing.
I don't think I've done Smyrna cross yet? But the plan about the first stitch does sound like a good idea. 27 color changes in that little chart... I think I'd be changing some of them. Especially the ones that don't show up on whatever linen you choose.
