A slow down

Yoi.  Cleaned carole's bathroom today and it wasn't easy.  Her cast iron tub has no finish, neither does her floor.  I doubt wax would help the linoleum, the tub should just be replaced.  I purchased a wall cabinet for storage and that didn't sit well with her.  Wants nothing changed, wouldn't pare down the toiletries, makeup, nothing.  Been dealing with this for some time so not a surprise, but my paining old body was.  Did not expect the on my knees stretching and scrubbing would be a problem!  Good grief.

My next project, should I decide to stay with it, is also from Ooh la la, Spring Green pincushion.  I want to make the matching needleroll also.  Took a while to get threads right.  The WDW Tarragon DMC alternative is shown as 3768, but I didn't like that blue as leaves.  Checking a few sites showed the DMC match as 3022.  Nah.  Chose a lighter and darker green from my overdyed.  Very limited stash, but had the perfect shades.  DMC 3721 and similar are not my favorites, especially on this gingerbread linen.  Switched the 3721 to 355 for flowers and I'm a happy crab.

Not a sampler, but this design is too sweet to pass on.

High winds tonight.  After a few advil I should sleep through the howling.

Thanks for visiting!

I am NOT surprised you are hurting after cleaning that tub! I have not been able to scrub our tubs for years. Dear Brian does it for us. My herniated discs and nerve pain in my SI joint injury do not allow it.
I love the Spring Green piece. Will you stitch the words also?

I think long and hard if the pain is worth getting on my hands and knees now. What's that old saying - getting old isn't for sissies? I'd change it to keeping going while getting old isn't for sissies. If all I do is sit in a chair, not much hurts, yet things have to get done. Not as fast and maybe a bit less often though.

Did the bathroom cabinet get put up anyway? I hope so, if there's that many people living there, something's got to be done. Hopefully she'll get used to, and maybe even start to like, it though she may never admit it.

In my mind, those little items in the BBD books are mini samplers. Now seeing it again, I wish I'd gotten this book when I saw it.

I like your changes in threads, Marly. Hope your body is less painful today.

When someone reacts like Carole, sometimes it is best to leave them to their own devices...the situation would become so untenable that they begin to see the error of their thinking...maybe... I don't know why she
rejects your suggestions after all the order and sanity you have brought into her life...you certainly do not deserve the pain it has brought to you.. You need a break and a disciplined decision to commit time and rest to yourself and let the chips fall where they may...Hope today you can recover and enjoy that lovely new project...great match on the ground fabric...

That’s it, Marly! I need to buy the Ooh La La book! I love the fabric you’re stitching on and you always make the perfect color choices.
I hear you about scrubbing and getting down on the hands and knees! But, we carry on, despite the pain! Enjoy your weekend! Cherie in WI

This piece definitely is worthy of an OOOOOO la LA!!! I absolutely love it and your choices of fabric and threads. If I weren't committed to the piece I have started, I would start this one me thinks. It's that good. ~Robin~

My husband and I just had the "cleaning" conversation. Since my surgery and inability to do the housework, he has been doing it. By doing it I mean, doing it his way....just terrible....dust kitties under things - (his comment - the vacuum doesn't get there), the floors (his comment - they're o.k.)....we are not going to fight over this - I'm picking my battles - we're getting a housekeeper/cleaner.....we'll see how this works.

I love the fabric/colors you're using.... I'm looking for someone to finish the twelve berries of Christmas - 8 are finished...finishing the stitching on #11...got any ideas? Thanks Sending hugs and prayers...
