I'm on "light duty" and need to start another simple project to keep busy. So next up, the second chart I downloaded from GirlWithAGavelStitches. Small, and her name grabbed me. Maud Fuzzard.
Maud Fuzzard.
For Maud, I do have an 8x12 Ale in 36, and was hoping for the same in 40 count. Nope. Still small in 36 and I changed a few DMCs for it. Not color change, just hue or brightness. 813 for 799, 3852 for 832, 3773 for 224. Minor changes, but my preference of hue.
If I don't get started or my eyes get tired, I may do a post on the "background" tomorrow. Gotta keep busy, can only nap for so long, and it's time for a boring personal post don't 'ya think?
Have a great evening.

Marly, your next sampler is so cute as is the one you just finished. You always pick just the right colors! Here’s to a speedy recovery and some time to relax. Glad your surgery went well. Take care, Cherie in WI
I like this sampler. Especially the waves in the center. Enjoy your stitching while on "light duty".
I'm glad you are healing well. Light duty orders are good, so you have a fine reason to not over-do things.
Maud looks like one of those samplers that makes me think I can design my own. Small, and probably deceptively simple. But do I want to? Probably not - there's more to it than laying out stitches for the letters, like what linen and floss colors to use.
A boring (is that really the right word?) personal post on the background issue would settle a lot of questions, speculation, and worries about what might hit the fan in the future. On my part anyway.
Maud is a wonderful choice, Marly. Thinking of you as you journey the road of recovery.
Enjoy your light duty. Glad surgery is over, now it's time to enjoy some stitching. Take care of yourself.
Things are looking up here. I hope they continue.
I like to read your personal posts. Hope there's not too much to upset you to tell about.
Hugs,
Charlotte in Va.
I just know you will improve upon this piece, as you always do... Love the expression "light
duty" which we all can use every so often. Hope you continue to heal while taking a pause to
really relax. Ice covered branches outside our windows here in the South. "can Spring be far
behind?"
I cannot even begin to imagine how much linen you have. Like me and my wool...never the right color!
Ha! I'd stitch this just for the name...Maud Fuzzard!!! Absolutely LOVE LOL. And you KNOW I feel you linen agony. Legacy is one of my favorites...or I thought it was...until I stitched 2 smalls I had been wanting to stitch since the patterns were released and was hugely disappointed when they didn't turn out like the model photos even though I used the called for linen and floss...and then I checked my other pieces of Legacy and saw the issue. TOTALLY different than the pieces I had stitched on (and, unlike you, I didn't catch the issue until it was too late). Hence, they have not become FFO's. I took out another favorite of mine of which I had 7 different cuts...each and every one different - and REALLY different. I know variation in overdyeds is to be expected - but seriously? Thanks..yes, I do feel better. ~Robin~
Love the name too! I am drawing a mental picture right now! Take care of yourself, you keep me motivated! It is your fault that I am in love with smalls and the big projects are lying about in project boxes and drawers! Too much for my arthritic hands.
