this site is for you.
I was watching Daisy Kays Primitives and she shared sweet smalls of various saltbox designs from Pinker n Punkin's blog. And they are free. New to me, this blogger offers a load of free designs and all are listed in the Labels column by subject. This link is to her saltbox/house series and they are wonderful!!
Photo from her blog, a sample of her work.
It will take some time to read her posts and get to know her and I hope to do that in the coming days.
Just wanted to share this with you, so generous of her, and her designs are wonderful.
We're having a problem with the cat I showed recently. Quite large so I assumed a male ... not so. There are nightly fights, daily chases, this poor girl is constantly attacked to the point of not being able to finish a meal. She eats here several times a day, gets within ten feet of us, then leaves in the same direction. We assume she lives elsewhere since the shelter here is not used, but that may be under someone's deck for all we know. We need to trap her which will be difficult, and take her to a clinic for spaying. I don't care who she belongs to, she roams freely and should not have litters. If we succeed, her new name will be Tootsie. Or Flossy, my mother's name for me. My sister called me Morticia because I was very thin and tall with long dark hair, my brother called me Weed because I grew so quickly. My grandfather ... Malinka.
Enjoy your Sunday. Husband thinks he's golfing tomorrow but the wind now (midnight) is howling and frigid. But this is PA, so anything is possible.

I discovered Pinker n Pumpkin blog about a year ago (wandering through other bloggers' sidebars links). I've saved all her house patterns, and quite a few others. None have been stitched yet. Someday they'll get stitched up.
Too bad about that cat, and yes she should be taken in and spayed, whether she has an owner or not. IMHO, any cat allowed to roam is fair game to be taken in and have it done. I'd have done it to a tom cat that's been coming here for nearly ten years now, but he won't even get near a cage.
I hope the weather is good for golfing. Though I know some would golf as long as there's no thunder/lightning or snow on the ground.
Yes, Melisa's blog is wonderful and she has such a talented and generous spirit. I stitched one of her saltbox house designs for a Christmas ornament in 2021 and have plans to stitch more!
I sure hope you can help that poor cat--I feel so bad for her.
Warming up by Tuesday for sure, but I hope your husband can play a round tomorrow. ♥
I've been seeing all the little saltboxes Kristy's been stitching, but never followed up looking for the designer's blog (follow-through is severely lacking here these days) and didn't realize they were freebies. Might have to go exploring, but will need to plan a day as I'm sure I will get sidetracked and, well, you know what happens then. I scrolled back and, yes, that's one big kitty. Love "Malinka".... I've only ever had 2 nicknames - my childhood/family nickname (Dolly) and one I was given in college (Squirrel). I'd prefer any of yours to those. ~Robin~
Thanks for planning to get her spayed. It doesn't matter if she has a home or not, you are doing her a great service.
By the way, my childhood nickname was "Stormy" because I was fiesty and had a bit of a temper. It has served me well.
Melisa (Pinker n Punkin blogger) is so sweet! Always offering her designs everyone who wishes to download them, and delighted whenever someone stitches one of her pieces. And so veryany cute little designs! She has a little house (or two, or three) for every seasonal holiday. A bunch of other little designs as well. Now if I could only find more time to stitch.....
Well, thank you! First, love those nicknames, mine was rather unkind so I will not share it but I proved them wrong. Long story. Anyway, I just totally love the little houses. One of my first samplers, when just a young teen, was a house, a salt box. It has been misplaced in a move. It was pretty rough but these little darlings have really inspired me.
I was just outside and cannot believe how cold it is, but tomorrow is the first day of Spring, there is hope. I hope you can catch the kitty, I hate to see them out like this. We have a neighbor nearby who keeps ducks. About 30 of them, well the count changes every day because they roam freely, all over the road, and there is a loss or two per week. Dimwit. I am ready to file a complaint.
Love the freebees of Melisa-- they are so pretty and easely to stitch. She is a lovely woman who like to share but always saying she is not a professional, but like to share.
I don't think you like her house, because she has a lot of things around of quilts and bowls etc.in her house on display.
But she is such a kind person!
Hope you can catch this cat and it will be a happy cat again.
Take care, Truus from Holland
Hello Marly: I am so sad the cat is having fights, I wish they could all get along, I hope you can catch her and have her fixed.
Thank-you for the link to the Saltbox houses, I had to go to her site.
I am looking forward to seeing the Saltbox houses you do stitch.
Have a great week.
Catherine
