It's not over till the bluebird sings

I thought Elizabeth was done!  While pressing, the unfinished top motifs were a surprise.  But they certainly won't take much time.  Slightly different than charted because .... well ... you know I can't leave well enough alone.

Started at the beginning of Carole's crisis two years ago, I wasn't loving this sampler and rather than discard, kept it.  So basically, a WIP which is very rare for me.  The only reason I decided to continue after finding it in my mess, was to prevent a slump while other options were in limbo.  Wow.  I love her!  Shocked!  How could she go from pfft to wowza?

Also during the pressing I noticed the top area extends further than the body.  Yep.  Changing that.  I will squeeze the s onto the row beneath and shorten the two bands.  Really?  And what about the yet to finish mirrored motifs above?  Thinking .....

The verse (thank you again) was chosen because the words fit nicely, nothing could be extended to that area beneath But.  Happy with it.  Added a full n rather than the over one charted in month.  Some color manipulation (of course) throughout.

It's an Advil day, hope you're all doing well.

Prayers and thoughts for the tornado victims.

How wonderful that you are almost done with this wonderful WIP and that you really like it. I think it is so pretty. So sorry it is an Advil day.

Hi Marly: This is a beautiful Sampler, I have had the problem of a bit of too much on a row, I just added motifs and brought the lines in a straight row.
have a great evening.

Oh my gosh, love the sampler! The colors remind me of the colors you used in Fanny Erb. You are a master at color changes and a verified speed demon when it comes to stitching! I`m jealous!

Searched for the chart in your blog and saw that the lower rows are longer than you have stitched. On the chart they have the same length as the row you stitched on the top.
Perhaps you didn't like first this sampler because the health problems with Carole.
Like the colors you have used for this sampler.
So sorry to hear it's an advil day...take care, Truus from Holland

I was working on Gervais' Peter and Peep about nine years ago and put it away. I sometimes thought about just tossing the UFO because I wasn't crazy about it - until someone recently showed their progress on FlossTube. I dug out mine, and it was almost finished! I love it now; so glad I didn't listen to myself.

Your sampler is beautiful. I'm more into stitching samplers now that bunnies.

Oh Marly, Elizabeth is looking fabulous. I am glad she didn't make it to the burn barrel. And I like your tweaks.

The missing motifs at the top did not register in my brain either. It is a pretty sampler finished or not. On the good side, I guess you have a bit more time before needing to make a decision on the next project?

It's odd how life events can affect how we feel about a project we were working on when things hit the fan. Or even food - after a couple years of family funerals all having ham, I now think of ham as "funeral food".

I think Elizabeth is amazing! I can't believe all the changes you made...lol!
Those people in Mississippi...how very sad and tragic. With the devastation, it is hard to believe more lives weren't lost.

This is a stunner Marly. Like I said, I am always amazed at your ability to make me want to stitch things I likely wouldn't have looked at twice just seeing the chart. I like how you chose to finish the "vir" line. Perhaps my eyes haven't adjust to that bright orb in the sky over Nod today, but is there an extra letter between the r and the s at the top?? It's going to be an Advil day here too unfortunately. ~Robin~
