See those hearts? I'm stitching the third with dmc 434 to be outlined in 612 as is the first heart.
I considered changing that outline in one and three to red. But there is plenty of that color throughout, probably be too much. (I just noticed in the photo that I failed to stitch the period after TT. Lizzie loved punctuating!)
The alpha and initial rows are completed (that's a huge family!) and soon the house will be started. I changed the very ghosty 3782 to 612 and don't like either in the house. I do like the darker 3011 sub in the vase, maybe 738 or 3046 for the house. Light, but warmer than the dull 612.
There has been frogging galore, and not once have I cussed at the shredding and breaking thread. Never had that problem in decades of stitch removal until 36 and 40 count. Could it be because of continuous friction through a smaller hole? I think so! My single thread lengths are only ten inches, but the wear on that strand, especially during tugging for removal, may be the reason. Ya think? Even my old double gold band skeins shred, and that same skein over years never did on my lower counts after countless hissy fit tugging.
Hope your weekend is going swell. Heavy heavy rains today. The gutter is packed with the maples' bud droppings and overflowing like Niagara. I tilted the wheelbarrow beneath to catch and shoot the water into the yard. Quite noisy, but not offensive, reminds me of summer downpours.
Be safe!

She is looking good.... we had rains last evening after being well tucked into bed, but it was almost musical and the only sound. I agree the
smaller higher count does create abrasion against the floss, but the
floss of yore somehow withstood the rasp and never frayed. You have chosen colors quite complimentary to one another and the whole. Have
a relaxing weekend, Marly.
Ahhh, Lizzie - a gal after my own heart with the punctuation thing going on. As for the hearts, hmm...you know I'm not a visualizer, but I'd be inclined to do heart 1 and 2 as you did the first, but that middle one I might do in the red...but maybe only 1 row (I'm thinking there are 2? but not exiting out to go back and enlarge...call me lazy). The blue on that one just seemed a little much? We had a day of heavy rain (3") but are back to snow squalls. lows in the 20's. Thinking I might have to go back to the long johns. ☹️Hope yoúre enjoying your Saturday evening.... >Robin>
Lizzie is looking good, so good in fact I ordered the pattern for myself! I love your color changes and plan to duplicate them when I stitch her. This time of year is a good time for cross stitch. Here in upper Michigan the weather doesn`t warm up until the end of May. We still have snow in our yard, it snowed today and 40 degree temps are in the forcast for the next 10 days. Buds aren`t even on the trees yet. Sigh.
A tip from Ellen Chester, try using a larger needle on higher count fabrics, it makes the hole a bit bigger and prevents the thread from getting damaged so much. You really can't see the outline of the first heart easily, so maybe change it to the turquoise like the second. Enjoy.
Lizzie is looking good, Marly. Have you tried using a larger sized needle?
The color changes makes Lizzy very pretty. I would not change the color of the third heart.
Today it's also a very rainy day over here. Started a tiny stitching for Easter, but the second one was higher up than the first one so I cann't make it into a pindrum as planned. I think will take another piece of fabric and start it all over again.
Take care, Truus from Holland
Try using a larger needle if possible. It will open the holes so that there is less friction on your thread.
