Living under a rock, you miss things. All sorts of things including simple gadgets. I saw this spring hoop on a floss tube video and thought it was so neat! I stitch in hand and have a sit-on hoop, don't use it very often. This little easy to use option comes in a smaller and larger size, mine is the 5".
If I would like a taut surface for over one or a specialty stitch, this handy hoop is perfect. Easy on and off, I get excited over simple gadgets. I'm excited. Can you tell?
I've noticed some prefer the linen recessed in the hoop (like the underside) and others with the linen flush with the hoop. Never saw the recessed method used before, I would think the sides of the hoop would be in the way. No? Running the thread ends would be easier.

Doctor Monday at 8:15, anxious for diagnosis and an injection.
Hope your weekend was good!! End of June. Can I start crabbing about summer flying by now?

I have a couple of these. When I do use them, the linen recessed. It's easier for me to get where I want to stitch located properly. And more importantly - I'm not snagging the threads on the handles underneath. When I work in hoop, I'm doing the stab method, so the sides are not in the way.
These hoops also work great for mending or free-motion embroidery on the sewing machine. In that case, you have to use them with linen or fabric recessed.
Forgot to add - hope your appointment goes well this morning!
LOL! From this person who almost never stitches, I have had a couple of those hoops for years.
Happy Monday ;-)
I have a few of those hoops! I used them for a while...don't know why I stopeed? I'll go dig them out now LOL
I have one of those...somewhere. Used it a few times but wasn't impressed enough to use it regularly. Glad you are enjoying yours. I've tried the recessed method too several times but it didn't take either. Old habits die hard I guess. ~Robin~
Don't use a hoop because after a time stitching, my hand will hurt when holding the hoop.
Hope your visit to the doctor went well...Truus from Holland
