Straw hold

I do prefer a book in hand, not Kindle, and a chart over a pdf.  I like to read it, study it, even if I forget what I learned and screw up the project.  Going back to prior page to review by scrolling makes my eyes wonky.  But there are times when enlarging the pdf on my tablet is a Godsend.  I've been using it for the over one and border, and it kept sliding off the cover's ridge to hold it in place.  So I slit a straw open with a letter opener and installed over a rubber band.  Perfect.

My progress on Sarah has been a struggle.  I continued on the first line of the over one using the guide line which made it so much easier.  But that line ends right into the cartouche border, not a square to spare (Seinfeld episode!)  Well, the first letter was off by two threads to the right and there was no fudging to correct.  The entire row, removed again.  Then, the border on the bottom is off by two full stitches, and after spending way too much time looking for the error (I did find one) Sarah was going down for a long nap.  Cranky Crow Robin is surprised that my hissy fits have been lacking on this project.  So I decided to continue impressing her.  I have my big girl panties on (yes they were in place during the exposure), and will finish Miss Sarah.  Those two stitches will be easily incorporated, shortened, moved, into the corner.

About Jason.  He moved into large equipment and less landscape design, so we had another company in the last few years for the ditch and lawn repair.  That is the company that has promised over and over to be out and it's been two years.  I called Jason, explained that I am on one leg, and he graciously decided to offer a day of work to at least clean up the deck area and make it safer.  He is a good guy.

Still waiting for the ortho office to return a call, specified NURSE, not the PA, no response yet.  The meloxicam is helping, my foot is still swollen even with the compression, still much pain but not as it was.  I don't have hives, just a rash here and there, probably from the new meds.

Watched floss tube yesterday.  Is it sad that the big excitement in your 72 year life is anticipating posts from your favorite floss tube stitchers?

Have a safe and enjoyable 4th!

I'd call it a win! There are many who have no interests or anything to look.forward to. It sounds good to me! Enjoy your 4th!

Drop dead gorgeous AND a good guy? Lucky gal... Into the
homestretch with the stitchery and giving yourself some slack
by relaxing and doing your heart's desire for the fourth.

The sampler is looking good Marly...enjoy the 4th. I hope it is not very noisy here (but I doubt it).

Thanks for the back story on Jason, I think better of him now. Happy that he came to help you. As far as your sampler and mistakes go, think how many stitches you`ve taken so far. Now think of the mistakes made. A pittance compared to the entire project! Pretty good for a 72 yr old gal with sight and eye issues! Wishing you a happy 4th and a great week!

And truly and duly impressed this Cranky Crow is. I'm afraid, though, that much more and I will fear our "real" Marly has been abducted. Now, where is our photo of Jason? I risked life and limb (well, not really - but definitely embarrassment and humiliation) to take a photo of my gorgeous "pool boy" one year. I am waiting patiently for this holiday to get over and done as I am having some gnarly Marly issues myself. My knee is killing me, making it difficult to get up, bend down, etc. It wouldn't be so distressing but it is NOT the knee I totally messed up when I fell down the stairs so I can't rely on my "other" knee for an assist. Commiserately yours, Robin.

....realized I didn't finish my thought...waiting for the holiday to be over so I can start what I know will be a long process for medical help. PS... very clever and innovative you are....but that's why I have a portable keypad LOL.

@Robin - the ever so handsome Jason can be seen on the October 18, 2018 post. Yes, I do have it book marked. As I do one of Marly's posts from several years ago explaining her very small why no one else to help with Carole family situation.

I remember that it wasn't Jason you've been waiting on for all this time to fix up the sewer work damage. IIRC, you were quite sad when he let you know he wasn't in the smaller landscaping business any more.

Bummer on the mistakes with Sara, especially the ripping out of an entire line of 1 over 1 text. I'm glad you are keeping the big-girl panties on and continuing on with it. It will be *so* pretty when done. My printer has the capability to enlarge/reduce copies, but when the original is tiny and not clear, all I end up with is bigger blurs. I may yet need to give PDF patterns a try.
Hope you get a call from a nurse-practioner soon!

This is such a pretty pattern. I have been watching closely and trying to decide if I need to add to my stash. LOL
Great tip with the straw and rubber band.
