Removal angst

 Hello stitchin' buds.

I bleached the linen, soaked for almost 30 minutes.  Much better.  The threads of the outline lightened so slightly that it's not noticeable so I did not need to start over.

Been busy with zucchini breads (lemon, death by chocolate, choc chip spice) and don't plan on making more.  But also and finally got around to donating clothing and items that are not being used.  Feels good to rid excess, but also hurts a little.  My sister is one that holds on to things (coats/ clothes she loved) that haven't been worn in over 10 years or more.  I hold on to items I got years ago when Macy's was Kaufmann's and I attacked the 80% off rack.  (The mannequin incident was at JCP, not the rack attack mentioned.)  Even back then, only needing a few pounds off to fit properly, I expected to one day wear them.  If it didn't happen when only 5 needed dropped, it ain't gonna happen for 35.

More needs to go, simply because they aren't needed.  I wear the same capris, jeans, dress (recent addition and more comfortable in summer) and the rest sits there.  So some items from Carole and more from me finally made it to a thrift store.  But no one will take my china and crystal.

These are two of the charts I'm considering, but certainly not all.  I haven't completed Rachel yet, not going well.

Over half of August is gone and I need to recognize that yes, I missed most of summer because I couldn't walk, but I can now.  And some cannot.  Some know it's their last summer.  Some will never have their pain lessen.  Suck it up, go buy a larger size of the old lady full cotton briefs and wear them with gratitude.

Enjoy your weekend.

Oh that Irish sampler is gorgeous!! I got rid of so many clothes in the past several years. Now that no one really "dresses" for work (especially now that I work from home) - no more heels, no suits, etc. I hung on to a few dresses (nice in the summer) and a skirt or two (fun with tights and boots), but that's it. I still have some stuff that just does not fit and never will...why do I hang on to it?

I so need a good cleanout. I had started last fall but the thrift store I took my things to changed hands and it no longer benefits a specific charity I really liked and the place has become a disaster place. (Yes, I overthink and over-research things like that...but even without that, just walking in their doors makes one want to turn on your heels and leave before the door has closed behind you.) Love the new look of the heart (although I liked it as it was too.) I'm amazed the red didn't bleed. Do the Irish sampler!!! ~Robin~

Marly you get a certain age and don't give a flip anymore. It's all about comfort. Do the sampler! Jen

Cleaning the closet and dresser drawers, I should say clearing, has been on my to-do list since I retired 3 years ago. Going by what I do wear, and what still fits, they'll be pretty empty if I ever get it done. Some things are from 20-25 years and 40-50 pounds ago.
And then there's the makeup I don't or can't wear any more. Nail polish that cracks and falls off my soft flexible nails in a day.

I'm glad you are walking again. And that you didn't need to re-stitch the outline on the heart.
