I vowed to not be enticed into another big girl, and that's my plan. But during my previous attempt to work on several projects at once, a few were started. While considering the next project, I looked through those kitted bags. This one has the type of border that defeats me, but that was not the reason for a pause.
The DMC conversion for the border's flowers is a stickler. You'll notice in the chart photo how deep some blossoms are, but 838 seems too brown for my taste.
These are the three called for.
I think the 779 would work with two others I am considering, 3857 and 632. Options for the lighter shade (3826) could be 407 or 3772. The only color to be changed for sure is the 838. Once decided, S.S.H. will be ready whenever I feel like tackling a few more stitches in the border.
That won't be today. Too many things occupying my thoughts that would interfere with concentrating. The border will be a tough one for me. Some day.
Enjoy yours!
Don't you love it when I fuss so much about color?
And such an enormous difference in display between the laptop and the tablet.

Marly, you have an eye for color and the changes are always perfect. I rarely change colors. I always feel like they are the designer and I’m the stitcher! But, I’m working on a Plum Street at the moment, that I really wish I would of made a color change. It may be frogged yet!
Enjoy your weekend! I hope the weather is as nice for you as it is here! Cherie in WI
Oh, she's lovely...but holy heck that be a lot of stitching. I actually like the original colors? But I also know that always after saying that and seeing your choices I change my mind. The last set you chose are kind of intriguing.... ~Robin~
I love the 779 and 632 color ranges. But that's because I'm a purple girl, and to me those are purple-y browns. And the 451-2-3s are purple-y grey to my eyes.
Morning - love the sampler. I almost always change colors but I'm not as good as you are at getting the right blend.....I have soooo much thread that I refuse to buy more unless I start with a certain color and run out....oops. I just lay out the colors on my linen and look at it for a day or two.....in the light and dark. I still love to do counted stitching and hope my fingers hold out. Have a great weekend and ENJOY this beautiful stitch.

I like when you fuss about color. Why? It always provides me with a different perspective in color. So thank you for fussing over colors! Have a relaxing weekend, Marly.
I tend to favor the 632 blend with the other colors. You usually hit upon the most pleasing blend in your choices... Hope the border is forgiving and you are able to sail through it.
Have a great weekend, Marly dear.
You are so good in changing colors Marly and I have learned a lot about the way you are choose the colors for your stitching.
Take care and have a great weekend, Truus from Holland
