How are you all?
I'm very upset about August's arrival, but some of you are excited about moving closer to Fall.
So what have I switched in this piece?
At the top tail of the right peacock is the same bird as is at the top left of the large center motif. I moved the bottom bird to mirror the top so they flank the center. The foliage to be stitched in the vase to its right will not interfere.
The crown and bird positions were switched and I like it. It fits better in that space, the bird was a little crowded. The circle beneath the crown in the middle left may be changed to something else. I also flipped the left bottom crown to replace the year.
Linen was cut to accommodate the entire chart so I can stitch the alpha if I choose.
Will these changes really matter on a drum? Of course not!

Nice changes Marly! I rarely think to do that (and I should). I really like the flipped crown (great phrase too) and moving that bird up to the top. Nice progress! Enjoy the weekend.
Marly, your changes are always perfect and I love the Oaken linen you’re stitching on. I have a piece but it’s much darker than what yours looks to be. I’m with you on the fact that it’s august already! The stores are full of pumpkins! Just not ready for that even though I love fall!

August...NOOOOOOOOOO!
I know you love summer but I hate it with a passion. I am counting the days until August is over and we can return to some cooler days and then some cold days. This has been one of the hottest summers we've ever had and I am so over it. So yup, counting the days. Luckily they are going by very fast. And the days are getting shorter too. YES!!
Love the changes you made--it's more in balance now.
Can we please change august for juli please-- I hate september, not only because it's my birthday by than,but because the beginning of this month has sad memories to me...

Like the changes, and I am glad to see the back of July for sure. Waiting for fall.
I can't say I'm ready for August, but am looking forward to cooler and hopefully rainier weather, and fewer pesky bugs. I'm certainly not ready for winter!

You know I adore this piece. I like your changes as well - I would have never thought of them. Then again, I never do. Like Cheri, I love the linen and I, too, have a piece of Oaken but it is much darker and golder than yours if I recall. I will have to pull it out now that I have a reason to. ~Robin~

I like the changes you made, I am not as brave as you, I applaud you for this.
I love the heat hate and I mean hate the winter and cold weather which starts here in Minnesota in September.

Your changes always make a piece look even more special, Marly, and this is no exception. I'm sad that August is here, too--in fact our schools go back in just 13 days. Crazy! Not looking forward to shorter daylight and cooler days at all.
