Late but lovely

I babied, fed, protected these Mini Famous calibrachoa all summer.  And now, after fertilizer ended, they are finally becoming the glorious plants they could have been during summer.

Loads of summer blooms have been pitched and replaced with mums throughout neighborhoods.  Even baskets like mine and  larger are discarded for the fall flowers that are offered way too early.   I plan to keep these alive as long as possible, purchase one mum for the front, and attempt a door arrangement similar to what I've shown previously.

My ferns were great all summer and again this year, too large to bring indoors.  That span being filled by three is thirteen feet.

I completed the top border and the next band.  Tonight hope to complete the last two.  Motifs follow and then a wide band.

Be safe!

Your flowers are lovely. I hope they will continue to give you joy for another month or so.
Ferns are gorgeous. Too bad they can't go inside. I understand !
Always enjoy your cross stitching. Not doing much anymore.
Happy Autumn on Saturday.

Your flowers are gorgeous!
It's been so dry here nothing is doing well in my yard. Not even the bindweed. I really should not have believed all those forecasts of chance of rain and started watering in July.
The sampler is looking good. I think you made the right decision on swapping the border. The original border might have cut the alphabet into 2 sections visually.

Marly, enjoy your beautiful flowers for as long as you can! Mine are doing great now that it’s not so humid and I intend to keep them going, even though I did buy mums. Thank you for introducing us to the bubblegum petunias. They are gorgeous!
Your sampler is so pretty and I’m enjoying it’s progress. Have a good week! Cherie in WI

Your plants are absolutely AMAZING!! I try keeping things going as along as possible typically but this year I only gardened half-heartedly...and when I went I was gone, things took a hit as the heat was unbearable. We are still in drought conditions and I am just weary of watering without any rainy day breaks. And I agree - fall flowers come out way too early. Even here where killing frosts come early, I would like some blooms left on my mums by the time September rolls around. ~Robin~

We just got home from an overnighter in Berlin, Ohio; and I can see now why you love bubble gum petunias so much! They were all over the place, and several homes had drifts of them. Next year they will be at our home, too.
