Clearly

If you stitched the Nash Sewing Bag, were you able to easily read the chart?

On a tan background, bold symbols are readable but some are outlines, not distinct or clear enough for my eyes.  I need to use high magnification and certainly would not be able to glance at the chart while stitching to verify thread color.  I'll try enlarging with high contrast at Staples, hope it helps.  Not today, not tomorrow, maybe Friday.   I tried using my tablet to photograph but it became very blurred when enlarged.  So I will kit a few projects and maybe start a very small until then.

Got out my Halloween tree this year.  Moved it, moved it, moved it, and I'll move it again.  It's like elf on the shelf.

I have not stitched that particular pattern but I have noticed a similar issue with a few of her patterns, including the one I am stitching now for a SAL. There are several lines of alphabet, with color changes for each one and I find myself having to really analyze the pattern and the cover photo in order to figure things out. I finally (I think) convinced myself that it really doesn't matter with this particular pattern, but the sewing pocket is a different story. LOVE your lil' Halloween tree...and it really pops in the second photo. Leave IT THERE! ~Robin~

Love your Halloween tree, Marly! And you just gave me a great idea for what to put in an old crock that my son just brought me from Goodwill :)

Nash isn't the only one that's decided printing the patterns on tan or brown is cool - I think they've decided it looks "vintage." But it makes it hard to read and destroys the whole purpose of the pattern.

LOVE the Halloween tree! I hate that my Halloween stuff never made it down from the attic.

I love your tree. You've given me the inspiration to do a similar tree in my dining room. Especially now that's it's cooling off and feeling more Fall-like.

Hello Marly: Love your Halloween display.
Some charts are so hard to read, I had one I had to guess at.
Looking forward to seeing what you will stitch next.
I hope your brother is doing okay after the loss of his cat.

Love that tree! Mine never made it from storage either. Next year. I do have a strong light with magnification, gifted by a friend. Something she bought to use in her laboratory, very scientific, with no name on it, I'll query her for more info. The only downside, and now that I think about it sort of a stinker, it is very heavy. The base appears to be lead. I would think over 20 lbs but it is stable when you find a way to put it on the right table. It is adjustable.

Hope your leaves are pretty and inspiring.
