Hello hello.
My stitching has been sidelined because of a painful deep split that is not healing. It is no longer fresh to allow the two sides to meld and heal, the skin inside has hardened preventing that. Happens during cold weather but visiting more stores during holiday shopping increased sanitizer use, and dry skin suffers. Covering with a finger from latex or nitrile gloves protects and holds the healing balm. Snug fit stays in place all day (not worn at night), even through water, shortens healing time.
Kathy and Lauren's trees inspired me to try something different next year. While browsing, these real glass icicles caught my eye. A seller on Amazon offered a three box set for cheap so I grabbed them. Now there are single box offers for more than half of my three box price. Some sellers state "GLASS", but description beneath states "acrylic".
My new same brand, style, size, compression stockings are ... well ... a little smaller than a year ago. Really? Too late to return, did not expect a problem, a costly mistake. Surprisingly, those silicone dotted bands stay in place without the It Stays roll on.
I've been feeling crappy for a week but thankfully am not ill. I hope it's not caused by starting bp meds. My body does not like drugs. Was hopeful that Pilocarpine would help the Sjogren's but even a low dose caused a reaction.
Hope your new year is feeling good!
Thanks for visiting.

Hello My Friend: I hate drugs they seem to make some things worse.
What size are the stockings? if you cannot use them I will buy them from you, I have to wear stockings for five more months while taking a med, hate it just hate it.
I have dry hands in the winter, try using olive oil, put hands in olive oil for 10 minutes then wash with a good soap, a good hand lotion something without a scent, this helps me.
I hope you have a great weekend, it will be snowing here soon this afternoon, yuck.

Try CeraVe Moisturizing cream, I have found it works wonders. Also, is there any chance you have an allergy to latex? You might want to stay away from latex gloves. Enjoy the snow, it covers up all the mud.
My Dad used to get those deep cracks on his thumb (only one) in the winter. Very annoying and painful. My hands are very dry but luckily lotion helps some. Have a good weekend...I'm hoping it doesn't get too messy out there (more rain and high winds forecast).
Ewwww....I can only imagine how painful that thumb must be. Ou, ou, ou! Your loaves look amazing!!!! Maybe today I will find some motivation to bake. Then again, maybe not. Pretty icicles. I have a whole collection of glass ornaments -including icicles- that I used to use for my tree. Every time I went out of town for work, etc. I would pick up a couple. Lost a few one year when the entire tree came down but many survived. The glass always reflects the light so beautifully. ~Robin~
What a great buy on the icicles!!! Lucky you.
Ouch on the thumb. I hope it begins to heal.
I'm loving my Viasox. Nothing else I tried stayed up or else they cut off circulation when they slumped around the ankles. https://viasox.com/
I use O'Keeffe's Working Hands Hand Cream, it really helps me. I put it on several times a day and right before going to bed. I don't use it when I am stitching, unless it's DMC and can be washed before finishing or framing. It really helps me.
Thanks for the tip about the latex gloves! I poked a hole in my thumb last weekend (from stitching) and it is almost healed....but not enough that I'd trust it to be ok for stitching this weekend.
Love the icicles...I have a few boxes from when Martha Stewart had her Martha by Mail catalogs... I sure do miss those catalogs as the quality of items (including the craft kits) were far superior than we I can get locally.
Hi Marly, I'm a little late to the cracked finger-tip party but I also suffer from many of them in the winter. The best I have found is Cetaphil 'Cracked Skin Repair Balm' and Gold Bond 'Cracked Skin Fill and Protect' cream. Both found on Amazon. They both seem to help seal and repair the cracks quickly but the Cetaphil I think is more quickly absorbed and more appropriate for all-day use, And it calms the 'snagging' finger-tip skin. Just my two cents; hope it helps!
