So how is everyone? Well I hope.
Scott is coming Monday to replace the warped patio door and install 8" and 10" shiplap to cover the bad walls.
A few days ago after removing trim, beams, and failing drywall tape, paint, and caulk.
And this morning after days of work, patched, painted, ready to roll.
We used bottle jacks to raise the two kitchen cabinets so crown moulding will be level with the other side. These two cabinets were made by Dominic several years ago to replace the original smaller units, and installed an inch lower than the carpenter's other side. Scott will install crown around them all, and I plan to paint cabinets white.
And these turkeys!! I look for Mr. Hitchcock every time we go outside. They flock is now over 80 and they run to us. Will be nesting soon and the visits will slow as always. We hope!
I ran into Hobby Lobby last week for dmc and saw this hanging above. The colors in this pack sang to me. Quality is probably lacking, haven't tried them yet. Only 2.99 for 36 skeins of 8.75 six strand cotton floss.
I am anxious to choose a small project now, thought this break/slump would be much longer but thankfully not.

Good to see a post from you. Like I said, you've been missed. And like I also said, I cannot imagine living with what you're living with. :-( Yay, though, on the good news about getting those construction projects tackled - and best yet, by someone reputable and trustworthy. I'm so sorry to hear that the BP meds are jacking up your Sjogren's woes even more. Since having covid a couple of years ago, I wake up with extremely dry mouth every few days. I can't imagine what it would be like to have it constantly, not to mention the lack of tears like you deal with. Constantly hearing the unhelpful "drink more water" from medical people would get super aggravating.
Heads-up on the floss package - IIRC it's not the best quality, good for making friendship bracelets, not so much for stitching with. So be prepared to use it in shorter lengths than a floss like DMC. Though some reports are that DMC isn't what it used to be either? Those packages do come in nice colors though, and that price is hard to pass up. Fantastic news on getting the kitchen finished and that you are itching to stitch something.

Sometimes no news is good news, glad there have been no disasters to deal with although you have the ongoing health challenges to deal with. Carole is doing OK? I love your home, love the simplicity. The view out your windows looks so pretty and relaxing. Happy you are finishing up lingering projects, that`s a big win in my book! Take care and don`t work too hard.
Happy to hear from you and read about all you are doing. The cheap floss is not cotton I think,but you can do some stitching with it.
I have used some cheap floss for stitching and the result was not to bad.
And DMC is not what as good as it should be some years ago.
