Hello people.
This is how I roll. I enter the messy room with good intentions. But the first nugget of interest sends me in the opposite direction. Piles on the counter are shoved aside creating a space to do nothing close to that good intention.
This is the straight sided lid to Lume deodorant. Why would it be in the pile? Because during the search for the recycling code, I saw a tiny oval pincushion, probably in worn out velvet, which was enough to toss it on the pile. Husband said, "you envisioned a velvet pincushion from a deodorant?". Yea, I did.
I sanded the imprinted label, used Tacky glue and scrapbook paper to cover. More of a test since grinding, pounding, nailing, and a vacuum are distracting me from completing this properly. Who am I kidding. Always impatient and lazy, winging it is what I do.
Then I see that some of my Washi tapes are the same height, another option. The tape would probably need to be on a plain paper first because of the translucency.
Missy's mouse is testing pincushion height (too high), bottom can be filled with weighted beads.
Then again, I may lose interest and move to another pile.
The only thing for sure right now, is the new Andersen slider has a threshold that is elevated above floor level far too much. That's the design. My old door was level, no trip hazard, do not like this at all. The interior is wood but this full width elevated strip is the vinyl color of the exterior. Bulls Eye 1 2 3 primer? Washi tape? We'll see.
Have a good day!

LOVE the washi tape idea!!!
I love how you roll LOL. Don't lose interest in the pin cushion...I'm loving it...and just happen to have some Lumi deodorant (not my favorite, but this might make me actually finish using it) and some Washi tape. ;-) The raised threshold would but me as well. I seriously need to do something with my patio doors...they're original to the house and were handmade by the yahoo who built the house. They're a hot mess but I fear it will be a hotter mess to try to replace. (No standard sizes or standard anything here ya know.). ~Robin~
lol Missy Mouse looks like a chinchilla taking a dust bath…sweet 🥰
Distracted by your own creativity and ingenuity...those great gifts you possess... however, the pile remains to be attacked ... alas, which to choose? Go for it!
You come up with THE BEST ideas!!!
Marly, you really are clever! I am easily distracted in my messy sewing room, too! I have good intentions and always manage to find more projects and no organizing! But, it’ll be much easier to organize when I get some of the projects finished, right?? That’s how I roll!
I hope something can be done with the threshold on your door. That does sound like a problem. Have a good week! Cherie in WI
Like the book for the floss changes-- so much easier than the noten on the chart I am doing.
Great idea for a pincushion and here the same when entering my craftroom-- lots of stuff everywhere and seeing lots of ideas and things I have to make before!
Take care with the weather and yourself, Truus from Holland
I just love that Washi tape, I don't suppose you still have the packaging and could tell me what it's called. Never ever used it before, but the design appeals. Love how you can make interesting things out of old boxes etc. you're an inspiration.
What a cute idea to make a pincushion out of the lid.
Marly
did you ever complete the adorable pincushion?
