Uncle

I give up.

What I thought would be a really cool idea has been a disaster and waste of time.  Vintage needle packets had such great graphics and colors, but many too complicated to reproduce.  My vision was a bowl filled with small stitched pillows or pouches imitating them, and I have been trying my best.  Patience is required along with a good graphing program.... I have neither.

These were the least complicated graphics, but still a challenge.

Most are just too complicated to reproduce as a small.

The simple red and green without detailed image seemed to be the only option I could attempt, which I did, and my old program failed once again before I could hit the save option, and it disappeared.  Patience I lack, but cranky irritability is abundant.  Not charting again.  This weekend anyway.  Next week?

This is the one I was very close to completing. It's been a very long time since I attempted to graph and forgot that saving work continually is needed with this old program.

And these two were next.

Wouldn't a bowl of little pillows mimicking old needle packets be sweet?

I hope everyone remembers the reason for the holiday.

That is a great idea, your collection is Niiiiicee! I've thought about framing some of my vintage packages. That's all the farther I've gotten though. If I were tasked with trying to chart them, to capture the details, they'd no longer be littles.

Sorry your software trashed your work! Does it have an autosave option? Then again IIRC, some programs caused more irritation with waiting when they decided "time to save" than remembering to manual save as I went.

Dare I hope that the lack of Carole's mention means she's doing OK, and that the whole family isn't relying so heavily on you and Mark now?

I hope you have a good Memorial Day.

Marly, I love your idea! I think the graphics are so great on them but wouldn’t know where to begin charting them. I hope your appointment went well. Have a wonderful holiday weekend! Cherie in WI

That is a fun and cute idea, but I certainly don't have the patience to try to chart them! (Or the program to chart.)

We are expecting a rainy Monday which I do not like. I had thought a parade might be fun...but not in the rain. And the pollen count is still SO high. Hope your weekend is a good one.

This is an excellent idea though, even if it is hard to execute.

Love the idea of charting these packages, but so small seems to me very difficult.
Like to frame these packages and so much easier to do.
How was your appointment???
Have a peaceful holiday weekend, Truus from Holland

This is an awesome idea, Marly. I think they would make darling bowl fillers.

Great idea, Marly! Many years ago, I purchased a set of different size graphs printed on transparencies. A person wanting to graph something would choose the size of graph transparency and lay it over the image and then they could stitch directly from that.
