Close

After numerous starts on various linens, this piece of 40 is the best choice.  I like it.  But the blue needs to be darker as shown in the last four letters.  I just don't notice the lighter thread.  They showed nicely on a cream linen, but it lost the aged/primitive appearance.

Finally.  If not for all the test stitching, I would be half done with this sampler.

The 46 count that I dyed similar to Tobias, was what I thought would be perfect.  Unfortunately the blue just wasn't working out unless it was dark.  I think this 932 is good on this shade of linen, whatever it is.  Disappointed that my 46 counts didn't have a suitable color, so I'm omitting one entire row (vowels) to reduce the length on 40.

Again, thanks for the birthday wishes.  I did have a piece of cake at the kids' birthday party but none to take home for mine.  We're going back to finish some work tomorrow and I will take a chunk from the freezer.  I plan on making a peanut butter pie for my birthday buddy friend and me to share.  New recipe, lots more p-butter.

Stay safe, well, and comfy!

Do like the darker, more primitive color of this linen. I know you will make it work. Making samples, like the 'test' block for a quilt, one ends up with stacks of them! I always think if I just start and cut what the pattern says I would be half done. Ha!

Never had Peanut Butter Pie but I do remember seeing it on the menu in some southern staes on vacation. Sounds good to me, Lola and I love Peanut butter!

Looking good. Yup, like the darker blue. Pretty linen too. Did you dye that? I'm still beyond impressed that you are loving your 46 ct (and 40 ct by default).... I barely recognize the girl who used to love her 32 cts and even 28's! Peanut butter pie, huh? I'm not sure I'm in. I love me my peanut butter, but thinking a pie might be overkill for me. Then again, I've never had it...and that may very well be a good thing. ~Robin~

Never had a peanutbutter pie and don't know if I would like it,because after pregnacy of our first son I didn't like peanutbutter any more.

I cannot see past 36 ct so kudos to you for doing 40 and 46. Looking from the pc, the blue needs to e darker. I am having a similar issue which I posted on my blog where the color ghosted too much for me and I changed it. I know whatever you decide will be perfect. Janice
