The crab

wishes you a good morning on the last Sunday of summer.  To me, September means it's over.

This is Nash's Mary Robards bottom section finished as a lined pouch with a magnetic closure.  Found in store at Home Depot, tiny ring magnets easy to sew into lining.

I posted a video showing how nicely it closes on IG, will try to add it here.  Doesn't appear to work.

The very old leather purse was a found on a Amish donut trip.  Love love love it.  The thin leather strap is broken off and I will replace.

This is the project I've started, but also plan on another red sampler.  Problem is choosing linen.  So difficult for me and the majority in my drawer are 36 count, I want 40.
Chestnut was recommended but it's not available in 40 and I think this design needs a much darker ground.  The details are sort of lost in the chart photo, so I dyed a solid dark background.  I did see a start on light linen abd it looked great.  Too late!  Hope I don't get frustrated since it's larger than I've been preferring lately.

Hope everyone is doing well.  Limiting online viewing is wonderful, but I miss updates!

Be well, stay safe.

Mary Robards looks wonderful. I normally don't go to IG, but will search for your video. I can never post videos on my blog either.
That leather purse was a great donut find...lol! Simply beautiful.
I am not happy about September being just around the corner, either ;-(

I absolutely, unconditionally and positively ADORE that little pouch. And so ingenious with the magnets. Can I send my finishing to you? ;-) Love the leather purse...I had the intent of starting a collection of them a while back but bought a couple and decided they were way too pricey - and difficult to display. Your vignette, however, is precious. Ditto on September...it's not as fun anymore now that I can't go back to school. ~Robin~

I so love this little pouch, Marly! Will definitely be filing this idea away for future finishes. And what a great old purse. I don't mind September because it is usually still warm, but with the crazy cold we had earlier this week--who knows?

Love the Amish leather purse-- it's a great find.
Your pouch is beautiful and the finish is great.
Don't like september is around the corner although I will have my birthday in a few weeks. But I don't like the early dark evenings and the lower temps.
Take care, Truus from Holland

Looks as though you are back on track and the Scarlet House sampler should
keep you there for awhile. Love the pouch and your closure solution . The
Amish leather purse is a treasure and what a fortunate find. The cooler weather in Sept. will be welcome, but the early darkened days will force a hint of hibernation, which can also bring advantages.... perhaps a slower pace.

Oh my goodness Marly: That Amish purse is beautiful and the finish of the stitching looks perfect with it, you are so creative. I hope this day finds you well, yes it will be September soon, ouch and then cold setting in in Minnesota.
Have an amazing week.
