A twig

Could not leave well enough alone.

It's not perfect symmetry but I prefer a more balanced design.  I wanted to do a peacock with the tail "eyes" matching the right side motif's round buds.  But the bird would have been too large for such a tail, so I chose one the same stitch width and height as the right motif.  Still bugged  me.

So I added a little twig with a leaf and bud to his beak, what a difference.  I'm as close to satisfied as a crabass can be.

Carole is quite ill with covid and making it worse is tremendous phantom pain in both legs.  That emanates from the brain since her legs are gone.  Running her hand up and down her stumps to establish physicality is what is recommended along with sitting in front of a full length mirror for visual recognition.  Even then, your brain may not oblige and revert to the pain experienced before loss.  Pain medication does not really help, the nerve endings are not there to treat.  This coincided with covid, because of the immune system on full alert?  I know (as just happened) my Sjogren's becomes extreme when I am ill.  I got Paxlovid for her, for Chris (hasn't been out of bed for days), and Matt (starting to recover).  Tracy is negative and took two more cats today, holding our breaths she stays that way.

I have news regarding the felines, will share this weekend.

As for the flowers, I use basic Miracle Grow and also their Bloom Booster every week, water the tunias every day, once quite large it's twice a day.  Jack's 20-20-20 is also a great basic but I don't care for their Bloom Booster.

So who is getting the Nash chart?

Barbara from Kansas.  Several emails were received and included, Random scrambled and chose.  Thanks everyone and especially for including contact info!

Be well, be safe.

I swear you are the best tweaker of all time. The twig is an absolutely perfect adjustment. While my eyes and brain did not register there was anything to improve, once I see your "after" the symmetry is so beautifully apparent. Sorry to hear about Carole and the others in the household. I hope you or Mark don't get the crud as well. So odd, though, how the human brain and body works...that Carole would be experiencing phantom pain like that. Prayers that plaxlovid does it thing and everyone recovers quickly. ~Robin~ (Congrats to Barbara from Kansas!).

Like Robin, I thought the stitch was perfect but of course you improved on it.
Prayers for Carole's Covid recovery and phantom pain. Poor dear has had so much to deal with.
Your flowers are always amazing. I will Miracle Gro a couple times a season and never even heard of the bloom booster. Maybe next year I will be a better plant mom and have beautiful flowers like you.

Marly, you have the knack of making a perfect stitch, more perfect!! I love your latest red work stitches. But, I didn’t need another chart even though I am a fan of Stacy Nash. So, congrats to Barbara. Sorry to hear that Carole and her family are so sick with Covid. I hope they’re all feeling better soon. And, that you don’t get it at your house. Your flowers are so pretty yet. Mine didn’t do as well this year. I need to use the Miracle Gro oftener! Have a good weekend. Cherie in WI

The twig is the perfect addition to the bird! It's perfect in balance now.
Praying for Carole and family that they will have fully recovery from covid and you both are protected for the covid.
Hope you have some good news from the kittens.
Take care, Truus from Holland

Did not think there was anything to change but we are always ones own critic. Hope Carole gets better. Still looks good. Congrats to Barbara. Janice

That twig somehow brings that bird to life. A great improvement as it doesn't look so static. Very nice! Take care of yourself with all that is going on.

I am am passionate fan of redwork, any kind. This one is a beauty. Also a "symmetrist" (not sure that is a real word) but you fixed it just right. So sorry for the troubles with your dear sister. Phantom pain is unbearable. Not a medicine known to cure it. Stay well, the current Covid strain is a stinker.

I hope Carole & the others get over covid quickly, that you and Mark avoid getting it, and that Carole's phantom pains go away soon.
The twig and berry - a big improvement in the balance for such a small detail.
