Ask for a treat.
It's raining. Went to my 6 month check at ophthalmologist's office which I dread. The fierce light through the dilated pupil is unbearable to my sensitive eyes. But necessary. He found several problems but one needed treatment very soon, horseshoe tear in retina. They made an appointment for laser surgery at 4 pm. Between those appointments was a long overdue hair cut.
Do not like the end layering, but since I am wearing it pinned up (I leave shedding hairs everywhere), it's fine. We talk for a while about Carole and as I am leaving, I went flying. The exterior door mat slid on the wet sealed pebble concrete as if on ice. My back was not hurt on the door frame or threshold, but my foot was pointing the wrong way and my bad knee took the brunt of the fall. As I was helped into the car, seeing this was not a good sign.
Hope your day has been going better than mine!

Just wish you could be blessed with a space of time to rest and recuperate your resources.... You have had some surge of sadness and mishaps and
have shown such courage and fortitude in spite of it. Praying strength, energy and healing for you in the coming days, as well as smooth surgery and full
healing and restoration. Continued prayers, dear one.
Yikes, Marly! It happens quick, doesn’t it? If we lived closer, we could get together and commiserate. Back in July, I tripped and fell flat on my face in a store that shall go unnamed. I broke off one front tooth, that had to be pulled, and broke off the other that could be filled! So, I had the 2nd oral surgery done yesterday for a dental implant. I should have a new tooth in 6 weeks, but in the meantime, I look like a Jack-o-lantern! In between, I’m getting ready for cataract surgery! We won’t talk about my knee but I do hope that yours heals up in a timely manner. And, that everything goes well with the eye surgery. Hang in there…..you deserve something good to come your way! Take care and rest up. I’ll send healing thoughts your way. Cherie in WI
Oh Marly, I hate that you fell and your knee has really taken the brunt of it. I wish we lived closer so we could help you out by bringing lots of chocolate and stitching goodies.
Crikey girl...you sure do things up right, no? I know that the sealed concrete gets slipperier than heck - our driveway is done that way...sans the raised pebble stones. That knee looks really nasty. Praying that it - and the ankle - heal quickly and fully. I never did completely get back to "normal" after my trip down our circular stairs. And eek on the retina tear. Hope the surgery goes ok and doesn't cause you too much pain or discomfort. Like those above said, you deserve a break. Hugs ~Robin~
Marly that looks very bad and did you get a tetanus injection? It was not your day with all that went not in the normal way.
Hope the surgery is going well and you don't have to much pain afterwards.
Take care and rest with your leg and ankle.
Sending healing prayers and a big hug ๐๐,Truus from Holland
Geez, Louise, Marly! When are you going to get a break! Please, sit down, meditate, write some long overdue cards and letters, listen to the sounds of Christmas...but slow down, girl...
Oh Marly, I am sorry that you fell. Hope you are in less pain today and you are able to spend the weekend, resting.
Oh OW! My tiny "look for silver lining" part (and it is tiny!) says at least your good knee is OK, and it doesn't look like your jeans got ripped? Freezing cold-comfort thoughts those are though. I'm sorry this mishap caused the eye repair to be postponed, and you need to deal with that yet another day. Stinks worse that you have a tear in the first place. I hope the fix works and that you are feeling a better today.
Hi Marly: I am so sorry this happened to you, it seems the devil is out to get you and you cannot catch a break, I hope you heal quickly, hugs my dear.

That knee...ugh. I took a nasty fall a couple weeks ago on my morning walk. Face plant to the concrete sidewalk. Broke my glasses (unrepairable), blood running down my face and bleeding on to my new coat, banged up knee (not like yours!), but the worst is the bruised (or cracked?) ribs. Talk about a black eye. I still ache. Just total careless on my part. This getting old is not for sissies.
Hopefully you will heal quickly and your procedure on Monday will go well.
OUCH!!! I hope by ow this is healing nicely and you are over your eye doctor visits. It's all TOO MUCH!
Since your blog no longer comes to my inbox (no idea what else to try) I didn't know about your cascading health issues, I am so, so sorry. There is not much that I fear more than a fall. I catch myself at least two times a day. Please take care, know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. My blog dashboard has disappeared and I am not sure when or if I will continue. Glad to see you can still keep up and touch base. The issue of life will work out one way or the other, not much else we can do.
