The right way and the wrong way

This is the wrong way and I still do it.

Why would I not continue working the entire border which would catch errors?  Instead, I stopped the single straight row which allowed a one linen thread error in the center area to go unnoticed.

The needle shows where it begins and I've tried several options to hide this but it didn't work.  The outline row makes it obvious since it aligns one thread (rather than two) from the center stitching and that linen thread happens to be a very very thin one.  There are a few thick threads on this fabric but unfortunately, not there.  So it smooshes together.  I started from the bottom to meet up with the outline, found the error, and already removed those stitches.

Suck it up girl.  Frogging 46 count with pin stitch starts will be frustrating, but not as frustrating as failing to learn from my mistakes.

I stitch in hand but found that high count such as this 46 is easier to see when slightly stretched on a hoop.  Every little bit helps and I like the spring hoop for ease of use, but it is a little heavy.

Have a good day.

I'm just amazed you're doing 42 count. Even with readers and magnifiers, I'm stuck with 24.

Sorry about the frogging, Marly. Taking it out of 46 ct has to be about the same as 40 ct over one, which I had to do recently! Not fun! I do love that little red sampler! Cherie in WI

Ugh, I feel your pain. Last week 3 days in a row: stitch for 2 hours, frog for 2 hours. Arghhhhh! Linda

I second Cherie's remark...I swear there is nothing worse than frogging over 1's on 40 ct. But I still empathize with you. I rarely do my borders all around like so many do to make sure it meets up. I usually do borders as I do the center part, double-checking spacing against inside motifs, etc. (Yes, I hate frogging that much...)

I never do the border all the way around. I work in batches across most times. I hate frogging though. Janice

I can’t even comprehend how you can frog on 46 count!

oh how bad it is when you have to undo because of mistakes, you were very good! I can't embroider on 46 count, I have vision problems

So sorry that you have to frog such a big part of the border.
Stitching on this count my eyesight will be blurred after a few stitches even with a magnifier.
Hope your sampler is going well after the frogging.
Take care, Truus from Holland
