Not the type that has no rhythm and I can't shut down. I'm referring to daith ear piercing for migraines. You know, the one doctors tell you is a bad idea and isn't proven? I had a nerve conduction test this morning and I noticed her ear piercing. When I inquired (this is the fourth nurse over the years), she said the same. Her doc said don't do it, she said I have a nose pierce, two in each lobe for earrings, and one more will not hurt. Worth a try and if it doesn't work, she can choose not to wear the ring or add another earring. She said it worked. Migraine intensity is minimal and less frequent. Four out of four. MUST be experienced in daith piercing, not the parlor on the corner.
Another strange treatment that has worked for two local hairdressers, is the removal of under eye bags. Both had pronounced puffies, the fat pack was removed, the migraines are no more than a routine headache, no aura at all. Hmm.
Now for the happy mail. I saw this on finisher Faye's IG post and said "ooba dooba". Is this an indication that I watch too much flosstube? I say no! Anything that increases your vocabulary is good.
I searched for a pink linen online and was concerned that it may be too cool, too bright, or just crappy. The only small I found (not paying $35 for a quarter yard when I only need a smidge of it), was Sanguine in 35 count. Better than nothing (I wanted 40). Well. It came. Glorious color. Most likely better than other pinks. Looks to me like 611 or 869 and ecru or 822 are the threads, close enough. Some stitchers know how to cook the charts to perfection. And Faye topped it off with a fine finish. Ooba dooba.
Oh say......

Ooba, Dooba, is right Marly! Now you’re going to have me looking for that! My daughter stitched a piece on Sanguine and it was beautiful. I made it into a pillow for her. But, that Blackbird heart and the threads you chose, perfect! Okay, off to do a search! I’ll be looking forward to seeing yours! Have a good week. Cherie in WI
It's posts like this that reaffirm that watching flosstubes is NOT a good idead for me LOL. First you had me researching daith piercing - not because I have migraines because I don't - but because I like the look. That led to looking at ear and behind-the-ear tattoos (don't ask). Now here it is over an hour later and I'm thinking I should stitch this BBD heart again using this colorway. I believe I did my first one with the called-for linen and floss...and afterwards, decided I'd like to do it again in a true red...and now I love this. You're a bad influence my friend. ;-)
Lol! Here I am, back after almost an hour! I had to have another look at that heart after I jumped down the rabbit hole! This is why I don’t watch a lot of flosstube either! Cherie in WI
What gorgeous colors. That will turn out beautifully I think.
I fell on the ice in January. Did something *horrible* to the muscles and tendons in my left leg. When Dr. brushed it off and was nastily dismissive, got a laser treatment from my veterinarian. Completely. Cured.
Doctors aren't any smarter than the general population; they just stayed in school longer.
Last week I read about that ear piercing in a post from Sjögren Syndrom-- someone asked if anyone had this and some had that piercing. A few are unhappy, because it didn't work for them, others were happy because it did help them and they are feeling much better.
That heart is beautiful Marly and you will make it into a beautiful piece.
Take care,Truus from Holland
Very interesting about migraines. I'm fortunate not to get them. Faye does beautiful work. Your heart will be glorious Marly. Your stitching is always so exquisite.
Can't wait to see your heart! Ooba Dooba is right!
Love that heart! ooba dooba that made me chuckle. I have migraines. I started taking vitamin B2 (read about on a forum) I've barely taken my migraine med since. It sure worked for me. I do have ringing in my ears - head no piercing involved just noise.
I had never heard of daith piercing. Interesting, but thankfully I don't have migraines.
I have seen some of Faye's finishes. Simply amazing. That will be a beautiful stitchery. I'm sure you will do it justice.
Well, that's a new one to me! have never heard of daith ear piercing, but it sounds worth exploring. Fortunately, I don't deal with migraines. So glad you found what sounds like a perfect piece of linen, Marly. Faye's finishes are always exceptional in their detail. I can't wait to watch your heart grow ♥
Hello Marly: Happy Spring, I have heard that the piercing in the ear has worked for many, I would try it if I had migraines for sure. Love the heart design, the color fabric is stunning, looking forward to seeing it finished.

Now I have added another design to my life wish list for stitching, this pink fabric is absolutely divine. X
I have Sanguine linen. Imagine that! I love it. I also love that finish of Faye's. I have it saved on my profile page on IG. ;) I am anxiously awaiting your finish to see if it turns out the same. You will save me the work of figuring it out!
I know about the daith ear piercings, but would not get it. I have never, ever found a cure online for my migraines- when the doctor caused them by giving a cortisone shot to you in your spine and then you have them the rest of your life every single day. I have NEVER been able to find info on this online. :( :( :( And I am still trying different meds 10 years later.
Wow! Love your hearts! This is so interesting about the daith piercing. Also interesting to read in the comments about taking B2 vitamins and getting eye bags removed. I think it is time for me to get off the internet. When I keyed in eye bags as one word, the automatic spell check changed it to eyeballs. Ha ha ha. Donna
