746

In choosing the lighter thread (only two colors in this), I assumed anything toward yellow would be wrong.  But I was.  The center flower in Ecru does not seem warm enough, and the 746 on the right is much better.  The skein leans to yellow but doesn't look so when stitched.  Better.

Not very obvious in photos, but is in person. I plan to try a slightly more yellow tone before proceeding, after another trip to the greenhouses this morning and afternoon painting.

My sense of smell is better than most since Sjogren's, and I am more sensitive than others.  We have thousands of mosquitos waiting for the door to open so I had to use repellant.  It made me nauseous with a headache.  My only option to sit outside is with a fan directed toward me to blow them away.  Something bit the back of my neck creating a very hard but tender large lump that is spreading downward.  TMI ain't it?

Hope your weekend gets off to a good start.

Boy, those colors are pretty. Look forward to seeing it finished.

My younger daughter is very sensitive to smells. She's been using Off Clean Feel bug repellent; apparently it uses a different chemical than DEET? Picaridin is what it's called. Claims to be odor-free, tho' my super-scenter kid says it does have a bit of a smell. If that isn't what you're using, it might be worth a try. It's also nice because it's not sticky/greasy when you put it on.

The 746 does seem to pop a lot more - but I suppose some could be the light coming from the right?? (Don't know 'bout stuff like that....) I've forgotten there are such things as mosquitos. Here in Nod, the winds always blow so mosquitos are a non-issue. At the lake it can be a different matter...but, it is questionable, it seems, at this point that I'll be able to spend the holiday weekend there as planned. :-( No tempting thoughts of going to greenhouses anytime soon here. It's COLD!!! Highs in the low 50's (w/ wind, low 40's) and lows in the 30's. I knew it was too good to last.

Your heart is looking very pretty and the yellow you used is more popping up.
Be carefull with the bugs/ mosquitos and with the one spreading out.
Take care and hope you bought some beautiful plants at the greenhouses, Truus from Holland

746 looks good. If you are looking for another, you might try 712 or even 3865. I hope the bug bite has stopped spreading out/down. If you can, take a benadryl. Happy Sunday, Marly!

Those colors are really lovely. That fabric -- ooh la la!! I have the same problem with mosquitos and they make my summers absolutely miserable. I have heard from a few sources that Johnson's skin nourish creamy oil (aloe scent & vitamin E) is a good deterrent for some reason. I'm going to try that this summer.
