Is it me?

Something has bothered me about the house.  And I think the chart may have an error.

Look closely at the right side edge of the two story section (chart photo).

Doesn't it appear to be the same apricot thread as the left edge?

The chart and all the finishes I've viewed online have this right edge as gray, same as the roofs.  Maybe this is not a good idea, but I always compare and check my work to the chart photo.  Many times there is a difference from the chart itself.  I didn't like this when I stitched it and now that the house is finished, I plan to remove and replace that edge to match the left side.  Is it just me or do you think it's charted incorrect with gray?

Oh my. Seeing that border close up is giving me the willies. I wish I could simplify it and may give it a shot.

I heard Dole bottled lemonade was excellent and found it in single bottles at Tractor Supply.  No other stores here carry it!!  We tried it, love it.  Yes it's rough on my dry throat but I don't drink a large amount.  One store in Ohio carries the 2 liter size.  Good stuff without having to make from scratch (which is of course, the very best).

I have been losing my voice at times along with terrible back ache and lymph (jawline) discomfort.  PCP doesn't feel any lumps under my jaw, said I was fine.  Sjogren's patients are at higher risk for lymphatic cancers but hey.... I don't have a lump.

Beautiful day, less humid, less heat, glorious.

Hope you had the same.

I agree with you on the house color. I usually purchase a pattern for its colors. Currently working on Feniscowles Hall and the grass color chosen is totally different from the picture...so now am changing all of the grass to a different color/. and am hoping I will be pleased with it Janice

Interesting house and I agree - the apricot on the right would look better.

I will have to look for that lemonade you mentioned, Marly. Interesting about the column of stitching in gray versus apricot. I wonder if they were trying for depth or shadowing. Either way, it looks odd.

I'd be changing to match the left side too. It will look more like those white/light cornerstone blocks some of those lovely old brick houses have. I hope you find the oomph to do that pretty border. And thanks for the hint a few days ago about holding the linen up while lightly spraying with dye. It's been added to my "hints from Marly" file.
Sorry you have yet more aches & pains cropping up again.

Designers sometimes change their mind when stitching, Leastwise the ones who still stitch their own charts. Then forget to make the correction on the final chart. I have started checking the designers website for corrections before I start stitching. Or if I happen to see a correction (or usual comment on FB/blog) , I print and keep with my chart. Your changes look great! Yet, you always do good work!

I see what you mean...and, yes, I'd be changing it as well...but I'd likely change the two outer walls to the gray. Always the rebel.

I agree with Robin the CC. I like the grey over the apricot. I'm a big lemonade drinker (I water it down) but haven't tried Dole. I'll have to look for it.

I think the house looks fine the way that you stitched it, but it is definitely different than the photo. I am currently working on a Christmas stocking kit. Many of the colors of floss that I am using look nothing like the photo. I have to check back with its companion stocking pattern that I stitched another time. I seem to remember that I had to change some of the flosses as the colors were so off.

Sorry to hear you are loosing your voice sometimes...... could it be that the jaw pain has something to do with your voice? Didn't they make a scan of your throat???
Your stitching is looking good and is better with the same color at both sides of the house.
It is warm today, but not humid today.
Take care, Truus from Holland
