The comeback

First off, stitching.  Damn.  Never made this many errors.  A major reason is the linen.

Can you see that hair thin linen thread?  So easy to miss and where many errors are found.  Higher than 40 for some reason with loads of these extremely thin threads. They seem to disappear at some point in their length.

Now for the comebacks.  My wasted dried stem petunias that I cut back to several inches.  Didn't take long to grow back.  Buds are starting on all these ends, will be a ball of pink soon.

This one was trimmed to end at the pot's bottom, not as severe as the other.

Even the spindly impatiens that I reduced to a few inches have surprised me.

Warm days this week, maybe next week too.

Be well, be safe.

Your plants' comeback looks fabulous. Those super skinny linen threads are one of the reasons I much prefer 'plainweave' fabrics like lugana and Linda.

I ran into those super thin threads on a piece of linen. You are right - what a Royal Pain to deal with! With lots of light, extra magnification, much triple-quadruple counting frequently, I finally got the piece finished. I wondered about linen shrinking with dye. I cut a linen piece based on pattern stitch count, but when I put my guide marks on, I had SO much extra. Better than not enough though, I guess. Your petunia comeback is fantastic, and count me among those that never heard of petunia fertilizer.

Oh that linen would frustrate me to no end!
Wow! Wish I had given my plants a haircut.

Those really thin linen threads are a “Royal Pain”! It’s going to be so cute when it’s done so I hope you don’t trash it! Next year I’ll be sure to remember a haircut for my petunias. I just got rid of mine and replaced them with mums. The weather has been beautiful here and most of my flowers are nicer now than all summer! That makes it hard to get rid of them for mums! Enjoy the warm days! Cherie in WI

I hate it when they substitute hair for linen threads. And wow...that's some comeback. Most of my plants are still going strong with this late-to-us burst of summer. We are almost 20º above normal...while a few weeks ago we were that much below normal. But we are so very dry and I am so weary of watering...I'm more than ready to let the blooms ago. Then again, if mine looked as good as yours, maybe not. ;-)

I don't like stitching on that linen, although for a old sampler it will be looking so much better.
Your petunia's are great and beautiful!! I always cut back my roses so they are flowering till late summer and than will have lovely hips.
