How much time have I wasted searching for errors?
I'm too embarrassed to say.
Somehow, this 40 count became 45. Shrunk when dyed? Having a difficult time and several stitches over three instead of two have happened. Adjustments made.
The border's top and upper angles were not changed, yet I am off three rows on the right side of this little bastard's head. Top count- correct. Side angles- correct. Head width- correct. Tail to head- correct. Counted everything three times! His tail is one row to the right (which makes it four off actually), and I can't find that miss either.
Look at his right ear on the chart compared to mine. Three rows off. I give up. His whiskers will be shortened, inside outline of border less, he'll be fine. A lot of guys wish for longer whiskers, ain't happening.
But where the hell is my error??
How irritating. ........ wait. After looking at these photos, he will be more centered, and since I prefer balance, this worked out great! Wow.
Yay for me.

Ha ha....you're too funny. But, yes, I think you "error-ized" him perfectly. I prefer your tail a little to the right and him more centered overall too. Error on....
LOL - Yay for you!!
Holy moly! I would have given up...but he is going to be too stinkin' cute :-)
Marly, he’ll be perfect when you get done with him! Cherie in WI
Marly I feel your frustrations! Don't know how many stitches there are in the chart at the top,but as far I could count are in the picture 20 stitches and you made 17 cross stitches at the top.
But I can be wrong because it is difficult to count from the photo's. Didn't count the border or the sides.
Marly I am the same when it is wrong in my stitching.
Take care, Truus from Holland
I don't really care about the errors as he has turned out perfect! I love your candid humor that speaks for many of us!!!
A serendipitous mistake, yay! He will look great, love the color of the linen but then again, you always make the right choice.
I"m going through this myself now, Marly, on a seemingly easy looking design! I'm going to do my best to work around the counting error(s)--we'll see. I may just end up chucking the whole thing in the trash :) Love your fabric color--you did a great job on dyeing the trio for these Halloween pieces.
Now that you mention it, it bothers me that kitty is off center. Glad you found a silver lining to whereever it is your count got off.
