Dots and dust

Hi everyone.  How is the year going so far?

Mine has been expensive.  The 231 for dental visit, extraction/graft will be 1032, Eliquis was 641 (tier 3 for seniors, tier 2 for others), 175 for scan (that's a good deal), and the fridge died (that's a biggie).  Repairs in 2025 didn't hold.  What's next?  A partial.  Damn.  We're not even two weeks into 2026!

I enlarged and colored the Spinney chart section, tested and pulled through threads, started, stopped.  Too much going on with brother and others, not sure I want to stitch.  But if I calm down enough, a single color is my best bet.  Maybe two.  Three at the most.  No confetti.  Spinney calls for many colors as it should be so not a good start right now.

The dots ....
I have three medications that are round white same size pills.  They don't make them in the needed dose, so each must be cut on the score, a royal PITA especially being small to begin with. My arthritic and numb fingers sometimes cause one of the halfs to fall at the wrong time.  Pill stamp is barely visible once cut.  So  I decided to mark them (and the bottles) with a fine tip marker.  Such a tiny amount, I doubt it would do harm.  Taking them all twice a day allows a second chance to confuse, but now, problem solved.  Weekly pill cases are guaranteed correct!

The dust .....
Amazon offers these washable dusters to use in place of disposables.  What a great product for wood floors.  Every cat hair, my hair, speck of dust ... gone.  No water, no cleaners, just dry for dusting floors and it works great.  They collect so much dust that I use the vacuum nozzle on them before throwing in the washer.  No dryer as with all microfiber.  Love them!

We had a female fox running through the yard, followed four minutes later by a large male after her.  Both panting excessively.  An hour later, still chasing.  Mating season.

Hope your weekend was good.

Ugh on all of the bills you had to pay. Good luck with your meds. We have mating foxes in the area too, but we only hear them. Have not seen them yet. Janice

Oh yes - medical expenses are crazy these days. Just had my washer fixed (under warranty), then the dryer went. Had that fixed, but it's not drying as well (taking much, much longer to dry) so I need to call them back. I hope nothing else goes!

Ahhhhh….that explains my being late for my appt this past Thursday…. Something reddish bounced in front of my truck and my first reaction was that it was a chicken. (Yeah, didn’t have my glasses on and should have…) It was a fox and it bounced in front of me for over 3/4ths of a mile. I would try to to go around it and it would move over to the center, then to the other side…then back. (I think it couldn’t run through the snow on the side of the road because we had gotten several coatings of ice before the last snow?) Anyways, sorry about the bills. I got hit hard with fuel bills and property taxes. In a few weeks, though, I go back to the dentist and I know it’s going to be the start of another very expensive journey. The crown I got in December isn’t holding and I didn’t think it would so root canal is the next chapter…and then there’s the tooth next to bridge/implant that was just finally completed.

Ouch on the expenses. Hopefully once this batch is past, it will be clear sailing the rest of the year???
Instead of using a marker on the pills, I wonder if using a dot of food coloring might be better? The marker marks aren't large, still - who knows what's in them and over time they may accumulate. They make food coloring markers if you don't want to deal with the bottles.
Cute house! Have you seen Melissa's (Pinker n Punkin blog) house designs? She has a whole series, many of them seasonal themed. Not quite as traditional as the one you are currently stitching, but quite nice, and free.

Greetings marly: Oh my gosh what plan do you have for Eliquis? its is horrible to pay that much, the pharmaceutical companies are rip off artists and getting away with it for now, hopefully that will change soon. You can buy food grade markers to use.
The mop I have to look up on Amazon thank-you for the tip, we have wood floors through the whole house on main floor.
