of what seemed like hundreds of adjustments, the open shelves are in. If we would have hired Dominic for this, it would not have ended well. Between the uneven floor, the wonky walls, the leaning cabinets to compensate for the wall gaps, and the one side being skewed, it had to be fit piece by piece here, not in a shop. The level's bubble finally cooperated after several templates. Decided to paint the top rather than stained wood since it would compete with its wood contents. Done! We were able to use the poplar from the first set of doors so that worked out. Turned out to be very nice wood, it was the braces he glued to the inside of the doors that actually caused the problem. We added 3/4" to the depth which also allowed us to cover the edges of the adjacent cabinets rather than having to perfectly align and also see the seam.
We were considering a simple wooden holder on the sides of the large cabinets to hold my stomper collection but that would be too much for me. I like the cleaner look and how the simple wood items catch my eye. The more displayed, the less I see.

Have a great weekend everyone!
