Mom's favorite bird

Hope your weekend is going great.
I added the brown border and did the neck's wreath in turkey stitch instead of the colonial knots, added a little rusty bell, and rusty wire hanger.
The turkey stitches are cut very close to the fabric.  Next one will be knots on a darker linen.  DMC 3777 for the bird.
Homespun Elegance "Merry Cardinal" from 1998.

Thanks for visiting!

Wonderful! I will have to look up what turkey stitches are : ) I have sort off this pattern but in a smaller ornament size. It has charts for 2 other birds as well. I just love them : )

Such a pretty bird. I love the "scarf" around it's neck.
My Mom liked Cardinals too and Chickadees.
I love the little bird noise that they make. It's different than other birds and I can always tell when one or two are around.

One of my favorite birds too. Unfortunately, I don't see too many around my house. Love the changes you made - beautiful job!

What a delightful bird. That is one of the few birds I miss since we have moved out here. Cardinals never made it as far as Western Washington State. Not sure about Eastern Wa.

Hi Marly,
My aunt loved Cardinals too - they are such a pretty bird.
Adorable pillow hanging - and I like that you gave it some dimension with the scarf and bell.
Blessings,
