A broken day

Hi.  It's late.  I have Frazier reruns in the background, while I listen to lids ping as they suck down, and a Jenn-Air high end dishwasher break down.  While making the pepper butter, my expensive rarely used Kitchen Aid blender died, so I brought out the Cuisinart processor and watched the plastic lock fall off right after the lid cracked.  And the bowl leaked.  Three items (one major $$) all breaking down while trying to puree a bunch of hot peppers.  Past warranty on all.  My HP laptops and printers usually wait until one month past warranty to fail so that will be coming soon too.
I was so busy today that I haven't had time to read blogs and although it was a brief glimpse, I see that I've been missing quite a lot on Pinterest too.  Too bad.
Yesterday when Bud and I were sitting outside and doing a little stitching, I noticed that the gray threads where only in one area yet the symbol was throughout the piece.  Didn't I tell you that I learned my lesson (twice) about not having more than one skein in my floss bag during a project?  I didn't learn it well enough because it happened again.  3787.  One gray.  One taupe.  Two colors used for one symbol.  It was hard to stitch with someone taking up too much space.

Every time I ran into the house, he would patiently wait for my return.  Until the girlfriend showed up and he left me in his dust.

I also worked on boxes and as usual, can't decide which designs would be your choice.
So now, I'm tired, my jars have all pinged, three appliances have all died, the cats are outside, my Advil is waiting, lots of other boring crap happened and will continue tomorrow, so I will sink into bed and have a good sleep.
And I bought a big fricking pumpkin.
Goodnight!
Thanks for visiting.

Boxes look wonderful, Marley......There must be a big, black
"appliance break down cloud" sitting over your house....time for it to move on!

I heard a "country" song this morning that says it all in my "book". "Never back up and never back down". You seem to be able to handle whatever comes your way, Marly.
I bought a big pumpkin too. Have to have one for this time of the year.
Your canning looks beautiful even if you did have appliance failure.
Have a splendid weekend.

Your boxes look beautiful. And tomorrow is another day. It is only money... not health issues so that is a positive.

Well dang!! That was very cheeky of those appliances to break at the same time! But your boxes are all lovely! And you DID finish the canning, right? I had a dye lot problem once or twice, but it was before I started to stitch, so I resolved it first thing. I'm fussy that way! Hugs!

Sounds like us around here -- cars in the shop, various things in the house in line for the repairman. What is it with things breaking recently? Grrr! Bummer about the DMC skeins not matching again. I hate that. Boxes are wonderful as always!

Wow those boxes are just beautiful...and I thought I had something with my fabric covered ones...LOL
Hope you have better days...I think sometimes we need these kind of days as a teaching lesson...don't like them but we learn from them.
Things happen in 3's they say...you are through with yours...onward to better things...

Love the boxes especially the one with the red house. Must be the week for breakdowns, my Vitamix broke and had to be shipped for repair.

Take a deep breath and remember - tomorrow IS another day! (What a stupid line as the last in such a grand movie!)

I didn't know you were on Pinterest - I'm going to check out your boards!

they say things happen in threes so maybe nothing will happen to the computer and printer. I hate when I stitch with the wrong colour its only happened a few times but its a few too many

Yes, things definitely do seem to break in threes, Marly! Our washer and dryer both went and now our refrigerator is functioning at only 50% capacity. I'm shocked at how much a new refrigerator costs now!! We've had this one for 17 years and the salesman told me the new ones aren't even lasting 10 because of all the electronics in them :( Good luck with the replacements!

Great looking boxes and your canning looks wonderful, too--I've never tried that either!

I really like the third row down from top, ALL of them. I will buy all of them in that row if you have them. Great job. I have a lot of hat boxes that went with my shabby chic look that I am abandoning, even her (Rachel) books for my first love and what I was raised with and that is Colonial Shaker simple. Solo. I am getting rid of the floral boxes for your style of box. Kazicha@gmail.com

Oh dear, I feel the pain as we have just experiemced similar breakages - oven died, then microwave oven got temperamental, hand mixer that wouldn't accept it's own beater paddles or whisks anymore - they do all come together.
The boxes look amazing.

I've been listening to all my jars ping too. Sorry you're having appliance problems. We went through that not long ago and it was a pain in the behind.

Yikes. No chance of getting that Kitchen Aid blender fixed? They all seem to always break down after warranty, and when you really need them the most after a long time. At least all the canning was finished. Weird enough, my other laptop broke down after weeks of not being used and not while I was slaving on my work reports. They don’t like being ignored, I guess.
