Hello people. Just a quick show and tell post. I tried making a little primitive broom and love the way it turned out.
I will hang them from a peg rack with all the dried garlands in the new room. One day sometime possibly perhaps in the near distant future. Or maybe the side of a cupboard.
The yellow wax beans that I dried did not do as well as the greens. They are still drying and shrinking much more than the others, and taking MUCH longer to do so.
I chose a new project the same way I usually do. Whatever strikes me at a particular moment for no particular reason, that's it. I found a tiny reproduction sampler from Chessie and Me under the sofa in my mess room and felt sorry for it. Like all the big boy samplers kicked her out and she hid. It's my first attempt on 35/36 count. I have to say - no problem!! I'm so surprised that it's not difficult, but I'm sure other linens may be different. I'll work on it more today and show you next time. VERY small. Perfect for trying a new count or thread.
Enjoy your day and stay safe.
Thanks for visiting.

How creative and fun!
Can't wait to see Chessie and Me. Love that line.
Very nice prim broom! Just caught up reading your blog - I've been at baseball and football - and cleaning those uniforms! Happy Weekend. ~Ann
The brooms turned out very cute!!!
We have a problen with stink bugs this year! Ugly bugs aren't they!!!
Aww sweet broom..I love it.
Huge hugs x
I have to say, when I first saw the dried been garlands I wasn't very impressed, but seeing them together hanging I just fell in love with them so now I have a mission.I also love the new brooms so I am going to have to try that too. I once heard that the highest form of flattery is when someone copies you so consider yourself flattered to bits! Thanks so much for sharing your ideas amd I will tell everyone when they oooh and aww over my brooms and beans where I got the idea from.
OH I love the brooms Marly. I may have to give those a try too. Mine probably won't be big enough for me to ride either. ;o)
You choose new projects the same way I do. I can never say something is going to be my next project cause it's whatever suits my fancy at the instant I'm starting that will win in the end. Good method. :D
Love the brooms! Love the bean strings too. Interesting about how the yellow didn't do as well.
Love the brooms and beans!! Great for fall decorating!
Marly,
You are sooooo talented and have such a wonderful imigination.
Thank you for sharing.
I wonder what the difference is with the yellow and green beans drying. They both look so decorative.
I think you did a mighty fine job with your brooms even with the stink bugs after you. They sure are pesky.
Your white pumpkin is so pretty. I don't see them in the grocery stores.. I guess I'd have to go to a garden center or farmer's market to find one..
Enjoy your creations.

Cool brooms!
Love the brooms!
Love the brooms and the beans! Wish you could bottle up some of your creativity and send it my way. :) I can't wait to see your new sampler start! And your method of choosing your next start is pretty much the one I use too. :)
I love your brooms! Too cute!
Your brooms look great. Looking forward to seeing your new stitching start.
Have a great week!
Cute brooms you made! And the bean strings are looking good, even if one is drying quicker than the other! The whole vignette, with the purple table is so beautiful! Thanks for sharing! Hugs!
Those brooms are cute and I really like where you have them displayed.
