Good day. I have two tips today for menodistracted minds.
First - when you are at the bank's drive thru, and the teller says "thank you, have a nice day", don't drive away. Wait until the tube spits out your money.
Second - if you remove your shirt so you don't get paint on it, but you're still wearing your neck warmer, don't let it trick you into thinking you are clothed. Stay in the house until you put the shirt back on.
I would like to do a few Santas and had to go into my Prairie Schooler library to get the charts. Most of the Santa charts are duplicates and I'm wondering why I can't find the extras. Then I remembered that I had a giveaway and sent out #62, 80, and 88. So did I have three originally? I don't know. I decided on book 88, but that may quickly change. On 28 count, the ornaments would be a little too large for my tree, but I don't have a large enough piece of 32 in a lighter tan for the entire book. I don't like to mix fabric in a series. So the cream piece will be dyed today since I have no idea what the linen colors will look like if I place an order. There is a lot of the thick weave 32 count that I dyed, but I can't stitch on it. It needs to go. Looking at some smaller pieces of 35/36, has me confused. They are still marked from the shop so the count is correct, but some look SO tiny and tight, not like the one I just worked on. Such a hassle for SWAS (stitchers without a shop).
Back to Santa. I found these Sew Fine Olde Santas, Collections 1 through 7. Anyone interested? One offer for all of them, not individually. I will never stitch these because of the color changes and details. The charts are large and very easy to read, but it's not my type of stitching any longer so if someone would like them, leave a comment. More than one, I'll draw a name this week. Free, except for international shipping which would be close to $8. I'm loading up the photos for you because I didn't find all of these old 1980's charts online for you to see.
Stitch counts 49x102 44x88 57x100 and 56x91
Stitch counts 60x87 and 51x87 65x105 and 63x97

Stitch count 48x91 and 39x91
Hope you have an enjoyable weekend, in this, the MIDDLE OF OCTOBER!!!
Can't believe how fast time is flying.
Thanks for visiting!!!

You make me laugh! Thanks for that. Reminds me of the time I looked down at a parent teacher meeting years ago to discover I was still wearing my bedroom slippers. We all had a good laugh at that too. Those Santas are beautiful but not something I would stitch either. I used to paint that kind of "olde Worldy Santa" but I guess I have moved away from that now and appreciate the more primitive stuff.
I'd love one of the charts, especially if it was a Santa carrying a tree. When I was very young, I believed that Santa brought the tree on Christmas Eve. That was back when Christmas, in my home, was celebrated from Christmas Eve until "Little Christmas" - Epiphany.
Love your new blog header. Very festive and the cross stitch is beautiful!
Wonderful Santas!!! Everyone is so fascinating!!
I love those Santas but being realistic I know I would never get round to stitching them! Your post really made me smile - thanks for sharing.
Great new blog header Marly. Is your display still like that right now? ;)
Back in the '80's I would have loved to take these Santa's off your hands but my tastes too have changed. I have some "old" charts that I'd like to get rid of but I don't know anyone that does cross stitch :( It seems like such a waste to have them unused for years.
As for fabric...I've gotten some that is very tightly woven, too even though it's suppose to be the same count. Hmmm
Aww sweet new header...
Pretty sweet Santas...
Hugs x
love the old santas!
LOL loved the hints.
I would love to have all the charts - I have been searching for them for a long time... I knew I had seen them but did not remember the name etc. Please let me know if I 'win'... would be a great birthday present - belated by two days!
Isnt't that funny, I've done that with my groceries, as soon as the clerk says "Have a nice day", off I go, hehe. Luckily I've only done it once where I've actually gotten outside before I noticed. I love Santas! I have been collecting different ones and would love to share with others if there's enough to go around. I only have a few stitch patterns and am really excited about these!
Thank you for being so generous and sharing with us!

You keeping me laughing too...One of many reasons why I keep coming back. Your new header is fabulous with those wonderful samplers. I agree... The lovely Santas are beyond my patience. They should find a home with an ambitious stitcher - thanks for your generosity.
Thank you for starting my day off with a good laugh.

I think I have those same Santa designs in my box of charts. Guess I'm not stitching them anytime soon since I forgot about them until I read this post, lol.
I just heard the news and I'm still reeling from the news about Cathey. Breaks my heart!
I laughed so hard because I went to work one day and had on 2 different colored shoes. I couldn't leave so had t suffer through it all day.
I would love the sweet santas. rashorter@embarqmail.com.
You are so generous. We are in Virginia Beach as we had a new grandson born. When we get home I will see if I have any duplicates of those numbers for you.
Love the Santa's.

Years and years ago, I stitched the Lantern Santa on "dirty linen".
He is beautiful.
The Prairie Schooler Santa ornaments are my "speed" now.
Your pumpkins and corn sure do look like Fall. So nice !
Have a wonderful week with no mishaps. Your sense of humor always makes me smile.

Love the words of advice! We all could probably contribute to that wisdom! (Mis-spelled a word before!)
They're wonderful Santa's, I'd love to stitch one of them for my grandchildren. So please count me in.
I would also like to have my name added to the Santa drawing, I think they are all beautiful and would love to stitch them. Thank you!
