Changed the green pants to gray, blue cape to gray, face and beard colors, and didn't follow the handheld items. The same pose is used several times in books 80 and 88, so I just choose the items I like best for that particular pose. This lantern is a smaller version of one that is hanging in book 80 and I just put it on top of a staff that is used several times. I don't like to stitch small cute things, so I'm leaving the dolls and toys out of this series. In the last one, I added some twigs instead of stitching the toys in the back pack. There's not a thing wrong with these designs as they are charted, but I prefer a simpler look. This week. Maybe before I finish them into ornaments, I'll add a few toys! I also don't know if I want to add the backstitched border. I'll wait until they are all completed to decide, and hopefully not want them changed after they're hanging on a tree.
I think the furnace starting up again has triggered a competition with my hormones for the heat index. It seems whenever there is a season change, my flashes feel the need to adjust, just to make sure I'm not comfortable.
Lots of stuff to do today, have a great weekend.
Thanks for visiting!

Wow I love them too :)
Hugs x
I totally love how you changed these. I too prefer simplicity and maybe that's why I was a little turned off on these designs. What you have done is perfect. Way to go!

Oh wow!!!!! They are wonderful Marly, love them, Blessings Francine.
Love the Santas. I have some of the PS Santa books but not this one. I was lucky enough to find it online for $6.99. Most of these OOP books go for a LOT more. Can't wait to get it! Thanks for the inspiration.
Love those Santas!
Hi Marly! Loving your PS Santas! I stitched this series a few years ago ... never finished them into anything :( ... and ironically did not stitch the blue one because of all those "little things". I adore how you changed it. I must pull those out, stitch that final Santa and get them finished for Christmas 2013!
Thank you for the inspiration!
I really like the changes you've made! They look great and less cluttered.
I hope your internal furnace gets turned down! :)
Love them!
I have a few of those charts. I can't wait to see how you finish them. I love the way you changed them.
Please, please, PLEASE don't talk me into thinking I wanna start stitching Santa ornaments.....it just wouldn't be well-advised at this point in my "hobby" journey....or my eyesight abilities..... But, oh....how tempting you make them!! I love your changes....All those toys are a bit busy.... And now I am pondering whether I will ever be able to stitch something you haven't already stitched and shared with us.... I fear that if I see it afterwards, I will want to rip mine out and redo it (or burn it at the stake....which might be easier....) :o Stay warm (or cool...as the case may be....) We had a touch of that "white stuff" today.... Smiles & Santa Hugs ~ Robin (PS....sorry 'bout the spideys.....guess I did get carried away....) ;o)
Love your Santas, great changes you have made! Can't wait to see them finished!
Hugs,
I'd be happy with some hot flashes right about now, lol. It's too cold in my house but Hubby says it's way too early to turn on the heat.
All three Santas look great!
Your version of the PS Santas is wonderful. I know that the toys and smaller items are very intricate to do.. They take the most time to finish..
I love the colors that you've used. They look a more colonial than all of the red and green.
I have stitched the border on the ones I've done but I think they would be just as nice without it.
Thank you for sharing your finished Santas and ideas.
