Greetings to all. Just realized that I didn't specify a date for the charts drawing. How about tonight (Monday 12/16) at 9 pm EST? It may take a while because I have to enter all the names for each drawing separately but I should have it posted around 9:30.
Shirlee's gift is just my style and I thought it looked like a design my friend would like too.
She's a little more primitive than I am, and I decided to pay it forward Shirlee style. So I stitched this last night and finished it this morning. Now where the hell are the 2000 jingle bells that I have? Or maybe a rusty star?

I decided to wimp out and finish the easy and more primitive way. Cut to size and fringed the edges. Fusible interfacing on the osnaburg up to the fringe to hold the sawdust, folded the fabric over to close the back with double sided fusible, and machine sewed the sides. Using Nancy's idea of touching the ink pad directly to the fabric for aging, and I'm done. I enjoyed my first attempt at stitching on osnaburg, love the more primitive look. A few stitch removals over the piece because it is smaller than my usual 30 count fabric and I had a little trouble seeing the finer weave, used one strand of floss and really liked it.

When I was changing the colors on my current project, I pulled the 730's. As always, I can't tell the difference between 731 and 732. Just noticed this. No wonder they look the same! Why is 732 the same and marked as such? I obviously missed something and don't understand.
That's all.
I'll be back tonight with the winners unless the note to remind me falls off the fridge.
Have a great day - thanks for stopping by!

From what I found 732 has replaced the 731. There are a few other colors like that as well.
Well done on your Joy project! Hope you find your bells or stars!

Yep, that's what it means...just what Robin said, 732 replaced 731. Why they had to renumber it, I have no idea. There are several numbers by DMC like that. Who knows?!
I love your primitive project!
What a lovely project!!
Love the reindeer! DMC floss is made in France...maybe that explains it!

really pretty and a great finish.
What an awesome primitive finish Marly! Shirlee definitely influences many of us! Lol!! Love the rustic star! I still need to try to rust my bells...that sounds very odd!!
How dumb is that to move the number up one?!
Sweet finish!!!
Your posts always bring a chuckle to my day. Thanks...
What's not to like...it is perfectly prim. Nice finish too.
Peace as always,
Barb
Looks great! What freaks me out is that I was at my LNS the other day and they had various colors that had obviously different dye lots. One would have a dot next to the number. Huh??? And here I thought DMC would always keep the same colors.
I like your finish - it's very prim!
isn't osnaburg so fun to work with?!
love your finish, adore your fringe, gonna have to borrow that one, aka blatant shameless copy:) xo
Wow, you are fast my friend! Great finish!
I guess I don't use 731/732 enough to have noticed that they are the same -- or maybe I have older skeins. Love your prim finish!
I encountered the same confusion with 731 and 732 recently, too. Ach!!
Dang! Didn't know about the DMC change either! You did a pretty close copy of Shirlee's rendition! Cool!
I've never stitched on Osnaburg but I think I'd like to try it.
I love how your prim pillow looks.
Great design and your special finishing style make for a lovely finish.
Happy Christmas!
Margaret
