Happy New Year all! Hope everyone enjoyed the eve in their favorite way.
I'm finishing my morning coffee with a stomach ache from too much Panettone. Since the Mounds bars incident(s) I have gained quite a bit. Exercise and I do not get along since I am out of breath within minutes, which means I really need to get in shape. So my plan is to start and stick with it and I'm doing pretty good.
So far this year, I've only missed one day.
Went to Hobby Lobby yesterday and fell in love with this galvanized piece at 50% off. I like industrial along with my usual primitive taste, but I questioned my purchase once home. The tag will stay on until I decide. Since you already know how indecisive I am, you would certainly understand why I am the Queen of Returns.

On a dresser or night table? In my craft room of no more room? Mixed in with some treen pieces? Rust it? One decision was made this year! It will be Two Horses. I started it on 32 count and decided I would prefer the piece to be smaller and 35 is the highest count I have. I don't even know if I could stitch on 40.
Some of my 32 counts are so thick I can't get the needle through easily so they are out. They shrunk when I was dyeing/drying and are really tight. Others have that weird weave that I've shown before - thick/thin threads. I only see the thick, not the thin, and for some reason my eyes are seeing diagonal weave. I look for little square cubes when stitching over two threads but can't envision that here. Confusing to stitch on (for me) and the needle has difficulty coming up through when using the sewing method as I prefer. The needles that had really sharp points are gone since I kept pricking myself.
I have several smaller pieces of 35 count but only one is the shade I'm looking for. I'll start the design over (yes I changed a few colors) this evening after my family leaves. Yep. Pork and kraut in the crocker - cats in the chairs - snow on the ground - more on the way.

Keep your new piece. Very cool. I'm sure you could find the perfect spot for it. Wish we had a Hobby Lobby nearby. I think there's one 45 minutes away, but I never go out of my way to shop . . . unless it's an antique shop.

Oh my golly! When I saw that galvanized piece my heart started to beat faster. Definitely a keeper! Great for little pieces,jingle bells, buttons etc. Or floss too and I am sure you will find a million uses for it and wish you'de bought more. I laughed at your excercise comment! Happy New year
I think that piece is lovely! I really like it! Even just as is! And you can't beat 50% off. I like your choice of stitch too. I have that one in my to-be-stitched pile too. I don't know why I haven't stitched it yet.
When I first saw it I thought "Perfect for Floss"... Looks like I was not alone. I'd say it's a keeper floss or not. I know you already have that Flossy box, but what the hay, it is still a keeper for your creative imagination.

Keep it! As far as exercise all I can say is ...start slow and easy you will get there. Last year my goal was to also exercise more and lose weight. I did it and so can you! Happy New Year!

Definitely keep it…I'd probably go back to get more…LOL! The closest HL is 40 miles away or I'd have one already…I just love little storage compartments.

I think that tin cubbie thingy is a keeper... in fact, I may just venture out tomorrow to see if there is one in my local Hobby Lobby... great keeper of threads, needles, etc....

I've seen that piece in Hobby Lobby and love it! It was not on sale when I saw it or I would have bought it. Keep it!! Good luck with your exercise routine. I walk my dog 2 miles everyday. Once you get started it will become a habit and it gets alot easier. You will feel so much better!! Love your blog. Happy New Year.

Happy New Year and I say forgo procrastination! Can one do that? I mean if you are like me and procrastinate and then you forgo it does it mean you are doubling the procrastination? Hmmm, one day behind isn't bad in my book! No advice on your little cabinet. It is cute and useful. I do have advice for stitching on 35 count linen since I had difficulty even with the 2.5 specs I buy at Walmart. I found a 4.0 or 5.0 spec and they work beautifully! Can't see anything else through them, but I can stitch on 35 count linen! I wish you as beautiful a year stitching as you have shown us in the past year!

Lol! I missed only one day...you make me laugh! At least you have the intention of exercising...I don't! I think you should keep it. It's got drawers to stick stuff in and one can always use drawers. I would have a hard time stitching on that linen too since I can't see the cubes either.
Love the new item from Hobby Lobby I was the a week ago was to much in a hurry. Wish I would have seen one like this I LOVE it. Did your Hobby Lobby have many aisle filled with Christmas left I was so surprised were I went.

How are you supposed to stitch on that fabric? There is no even weave! I would be indecisive about that cabinet too... My husband offered me two wooden drawers... what am I going to do with them--I have NO idea yet! Hugs!
