Tired of this yet?

Another favorite plant, the Black Scallop Ajuga. This fast growing ground cover has beautiful blue flowers in spring, and one little plant can fill in like this in one year.
It forms a really dense mat, so thick and low that a chipmunk can't get in to hide. I had to rescue three babies from the brats. Nitzy is the worst and most wild of the three.
Speaking of them...

I have the exact same plant. Mine does not spread as fast though. I think a lot of sun does that.
Your Black Scallop Ajuga looks fabulous. Hmmm...need to see if it will grow here in our soil.

THANK YOU THANK THANK YOU....I have quite a large patch of Black Scallop Ajuga but had no idea what type of plant it is until I just read your post. I can't to tell DH the official name of it.
LOVE your pears and your fur babies are too cute and apparently funny. lol
Oh these pears are going quickly! Congratulations to Calamity JR. Lovely garden ....
The Black Scallop Ajuga is another beautiful plant. I will have to find the plant to add to my Blue Angel Hosta I plan on getting. I don't have the greenest thumb but I do keep trying. Yours are beautiful.
I can't resist having a go at pick-a-pear.
We don't have a garden any more so it is nice to see these pictures.
The kitties look cute having their conversation.

Isn't one of those cats the one who was so sick?? If so, he looks like he's feeling great and doing well! That's wonderful! You took good care of him!!
Congratulations to all of your pear winners, Marly! I've never seen that ground cover before--will have to look for it as we have an area on the east side of our yard that could use some quick growing ground cover. Glad to see the kitties are on their best behavior for a while :)

Thank you, Marly! I'm really excited, but I'm having trouble with my email and can't send you a note right now. I'll send my snail mail address soon, but I'll also tell you here that I'd be thrilled with the 1776 pear so I don't hold things up for you. Thank you ever so much!
Congrats to Calamity Jr. and I'll never get tired of your lovely pears! Glad to see Bud is still minding his P's and Q's after his faux 'paw' :O)
