Never ending

Hi everyone.  Just had to let you know that my poor sister lost her Buster last night.  The phone rang at 10pm and she was crying so hard I could barely understand her and thought she was having another heart emergency.  Mark had to take his gun and end his unexpected suffering.  He's not had any problems, was eating, drinking, and at 18 still jumping on the counter, was fine earlier in the day and she assumed he was asleep in his bed.  The vet had not yet stopped to drop off the sedatives and neither thought he would be passing so soon.  Unimaginable after losing Tippy a few days ago.   He was limp yet crying continuously so he got there as soon as he could and even though he hates having to do this, it was necessary.  After watching Tippy she could not let another experience the same.  She is an absolute mess and she has an appointment today with her PCP (that she changed from last week when Tippy passed) and can't stop crying.  Headache, nausea, but I am forcing her to go.  We'll see who wins.  She now has no cats in the house with her, first time in 45 years.  I feel terrible and there is really nothing I can say or do to ease her grief as all pet owners know.

I'll be back with the winner tomorrow night.  Your prayers and good wishes for her have been wonderful and I want to keep you updated on her circumstances.

Thank you so much.

Marly I wrote last week. My heart is sad for your sister. We pet parents dread the day we lose them, to lose two in a matter of days is beyond overwhelming. Thoughts to your family.

Desperately sad news on top of everything else your sister is going through. I can only imagine the effect all this is having on you as well; trying to remain strong for a loved one is so hard. You are both in my thoughts at this difficult time, Sue in France.

Hi, Marly, I am so sorry to hear about your sister's latest loss. How awful for her! I know some people say they don't want another pet, the loss is irreplaceable, etc., which I certainly understand. I have lost so many through the years, but I have always gone out and gotten another immediately. I think that you are so busy with the new pet that you don't have as much time to grieve. Could you maybe go to the pound and get her a couple adorable kittens? She has so much love to give to an animal.

Oh Marly ! I can't express how awful I feel for your sister and you. I lost 2 pets close together and it was so much worse than I had imagined . Please know others feel like you do and it will get better. My prayers and positive thought go to you all . Stay strong . This might be a blessing in disguise for your sister. She can fully concentrate on her own healing knowing her sweet babies are in a better place.

Each of us who have lost a sweet pet have been crying along with your family, sad for all of you and thinking of our loss too. Adding this sadness to your sister's health issues is unimaginable. If there is something more we can do, let us know; otherwise, our thoughts and prayers continue each day.

I'm so sorry to read about the loss of her second cat. So sad, especially right on the heels of the loss of her other one! I hope she will be able to heal soon.

That is so very sad.....No one wants to hear platitudes now but I have lost cats too. I read recently the cure for lost love is more love.....I was in the position a few years ago last cat gone and I said no more I am finished. It was my husband ( a committed dog lover until I moved in with four cats) who said ' We need another cat" Once your sister's health problems stabilize...soon I hope...she can open her heart to another friend. Thinking of you both.
