Mary's house

Hello people.  Hope your weekend is off to a good start.  I ventured out for shopping and came home with too much.  I just can't pass up a good sale.  I abhor looking for clothing for myself and get what I need online, but there are two babies in the family and how can you pass up their little outfits?  The 6 month old is wearing a helmet because of complications during birth and I tried to find a little hat that would fit over it.  I think I did but I plan on knitting one too.  Why is it so difficult to find hats for infants and babies?  I found toddler and only a few fitted others, nothing cute.  Summer was even worse when I tried to find a brimmed hat for the other baby for sun protection.  Anyway.... I also had to get away from the house.  We had another incident with an arrogant belligerent hunter who would not leave and is hunting with others behind my house.  Forget the PA Game Commission.  I was told many years ago that they can't do anything unless they actually witness the person discharging a weapon at the game within 150 yards of my house.  I kid you not.  So they are back there, with houses on three sides, using high powered rifles, and I can't do a thing.  You can't expect police to walk through the woods in their dark clothing while idiots are shooting at anything that moves and it's the Game Commission that should be responsible for enforcing their regulations.  But just like anything else in PA that my tax dollars fund, they are useless and inept at their responsibility.  But they get a hell of a pension.  I didn't want to hear any shots fired so I left the house but they can still hunt until dark.

So here's Mary's house, and I don't have much more to complete this sampler.

Poor Mary, like many of us, had a hard time deciding on what color to paint her house.  I made a few changes too.  Whether I will continue or switch to Jingle Bird will be decided this evening.  If I finish either, I will post the photos, but that's all until after the surgery.  I am getting more and more anxious - just can't stop remembering the scene the last time she had a procedure.  Even her cataract surgery was a disaster and that seems to always happen.  I'm trying to stay away from taking a pill to help me sleep, and my doc is arguing with me that I need counseling because I want a few 0.5 Ativan!  I tried to explain that aging, upcoming retirement, finances, and all the crap that comes with mid 60's bothers me SOMETIME and to add the stress of what we've been going through with family and pet losses, I want a freaking pill!  Not every day, not for long, just sometimes when I get over anxious.  I am not going for counseling.  Our very young, too young, irresponsible mothers in my old office were pregnant, taking care of infants, and their docs gave them Xanax, Ativan, Valium and others.  I'm just an old lady with hot flashes and a bad attitude.  GIVE ME THE FREAKING PILLS!!!!  She prescribed 30 and I only take half most times, so I should be OK.  One week to go and she will be out of the woods if all goes well.  And so will the hunters as the season ends.
So I will be back, hopefully with great news the end of next week.
Until then my stitching buds, take care of yourself.

Thanks for visiting.

Oh Marly. YOU take care of yourself. I am sorry about those hunters. Calling over and over again, won't make them get out there and do something, anything?!
I am praying for you and Carole.

Have I mentioned that I live in the woods? I know of what you speak. Over the years the herd has gotten quite large and now I permit my son and a friend or two to roam the property in Bow season, not rifle. That does not stop trespassers though. A couple days ago, husband, is currently an invalid, heard them behind our barn, not just hunting, not just talking those intruders had chainsaws and were cutting down trees for heaven's sake! The arrogance of some peoples men. I love your little house, the colors give it much character.

I do go on but also being in healthcare gives me an edge. The most important element for your sister, in addition to a skilled surgeon, is her advocate. She is fortunate, many are out there floundering in the system with no voice. Your doc needs to recognize the reality that you need to be on your game. If short term medication gives you that edge, so be it. best wishes inspiring stitcher.

hiya marly ~ i'd be blowin' my big ole' whistle out the back door for the hunters. if anything was said, i'd explain that the deer are trained lol ~ i can be snarky like that;) when agitated, i take a tylenol pm for a deep restful slumber...

I would be trying to think of a way to play music to scare away the deer, and maybe get the hunters out of there! I cannot abide hunting and I would be afraid of stray bullets too.

It is too bad you can't take video of the hunting to pass along to the game warden. Although with the hunters shooting at anything that moves, I wouldn't want to venture outside. At the moment, we are dealing with the hunting dogs around our property.

PS You are in my thoughts and prayers!

Marly,

I wonder if you and your neighbors would tolerate blaring music to hopefully chase off any deer so the hunters have no reason to hunt there. That or maybe flashing lights?

I'm thinking good thoughts for you and Carole.

Marly, you need a new doctor! If you were in Massachusetts, I'd refer you to mine.

I hope things go well.

Your Mary looks wonderful! Ugh on the doctor scolding you about the Ativan. I'm very leery about medicines, but I don't think you are the kind that overdoes on such things. With all you're going through, you need the meds! Continued good thoughts and prayers. Hope those blasted hunters go away. Ugh.

Marly....love, love, love your decorations and most especially the way you express your true feelings!! I agree with Vonna...just give me the damn pills. I was getting caught up on reading your posts and read your December 10th post and I am still laughing. I too, will probably pee in my pants just reading your story! And OMG I did the same thing with my new pants but I got all the way to work and my boss kindly pulled the tag off.

I'll start with Mary -- she looks great! I just don't understand the nerve of hunters being on property they shouldn't be on. I'd have to leave the house too. Gymboree is my favorite store for the little ones.

Continued prayers for you and your sister.

What part of "I need a little medication" right now confuses your dr! Best wishes for you and your sister.

No wonder you need a bit of help! The hunters alone would have me extremely anxious. That plus your sister's health. There are a few times in life when a little chemical help is needed!

Love your Mary and please try to think positive about all the things that are happening and will happen.
Thinking and praying of you both.

Do you find relief after you get it all out on your blog? My MIL passed away in November from a fall she took in October. Once we knew she would not recover I called the my Doc and he gave me what I needed to make it through the day without question -- wonderful man. At my age (52) with 3 kiddos (11, 12 &13) and a hubby I need all the help I can get. Look forward to your next post.

Oh Marly, so much going on in your life right now...I would be in a padded room!! Some doctors need a smack round the ear hole, as my nan used to say. The hunter situation is ridiculous, no one should hve to put up with that. I hope things go well for your sister so you will have one less thing causing you stress.

What is this about pet loss, did I miss something?????

Take care, stay calm, eat chocolate! xo mj

Hi Marly...Annie and I will light a candle for your sis...and you. Get yourself some "Easy Now" tea from Traditional Medicinals...it really does work...on "bad" days I drink it all day!!! Most grocery stores carry that brand...I get mine at Whole Foods. Very calming!
Thinking good thoughts here,
Robyn

oh Marly girl I feel for you...had to change my primary doctor because the last one acted like I was a drug seeker wanting Xanax...I use less than 60 pills (0.05) a year...new Dr doesn't like prescribing but didn't give me a hard time...this is a time in your life when normal solutions don't work...hugs

Marly, my heart goes out to you with all of your "life trials" that are going on. Our world is certainly going down a difficult path; the devil is so active in all things, no matter how he disguises himself. I feel for you with the hunters, having had them here also. They do not respect others property and safety! Like the others, I think you may need a new dr or have a real "heart to heart" talk, if you haven't done so. I will lift you and your sis up in prayer that you might be comforted; stay safe, blessings and grace to you.

I am not a fan of hunters. I wonder whether they might be inclined not to return if, say, they had a flat tire upon their return to their vehicle?

Maggee said...

OOOh I LOVE 'wranglerkate's' comment about a flat tire or two!! There's an idea... It could just be a drive-by bunch of kids... you didn't see or hear anything! Your stitching looks great--look forward to the next update after Carole's surgery. The Natural Sage has a great product called Herbal Nerve that I would recommend for you--it really helps! Hugs and prayers!
