Messy stitches

Hiya.  Hope you are safe and warm!  We got our share but not as much as the east.  Mark has 4 wheel drive so we waited for him to take us to the lab and run a few errands.  The main roads were fine but not the side streets.
I found my error on Abe and now I am trying to replicate the antique with messy stitches.  It appears she went left to right in some areas and top to bottom in others.  Many are tight thin rows and others are loose.  The linen and its age are probably why it looks this way and I doubt if I can mimic its appearance.

But I'm giving it a go.  Stitching in two different directions and changing my tension might work or it may end up looking ....well.... crappy.  Think it will work?   I'll find out soon enough.  But what a darling sampler.

The boys are double decking for warmth.  Squeak showed up again this morning, only the second time in a month.  I can see his tracks in the snow and think he is staying at a foreclosed mess on the street.  They are poisoning the coons and opossums to get rid of them but Squeak looks good.  They are all still afraid of Yellow Cat.

I shoveled by hand yesterday instead of using the blower and managed 20 minutes of the 30 minute Leslie DVD today.  Took me a while to recover and I won't push it, but I'll get there eventually.  Cardiologist on Monday - wait till he sees I've gained 30# since the last visit.

Stay safe!
Thanks for visiting.

It looks like you have a good start on your new project. I don't think it would be something that I'd tackle.
Thank goodness for 4 wheel drive. I had rear wheel drive on my old van and didn't ever venture out in the snow. I have front wheel drive now which is a bit better..
Good for you getting some exercise.. Just don't do too much of that shoveling. The 20 minutes of the DVD sounds great.. Now to get myself in gear !

Good to hear you are safe and didn't have that amount of snow.
Love how your kitties are laying together!
Love the chart and I think its brave of you making some mess with your stitches!

I don't mind shoveling. I look at it as exercise. An hour and a half of it was enough for me today. I love the look of your sampler. It will look good regardless of whether it matches the original.

Lovely sampler. I like your colors. The kitties are so cute. Do they let you near them much? I hope so. Karen in NC with no snow:(

Oh gosh, I hope Squeak stays safe! That's scary about the poisoning. :( Good luck with Abe -- looking good to me.

Those kitties sure do look sweet together! Glad Squeak is still coming around, and hope he will continue to be safe!
Your sampler looks good--I think we are always our own worst critic!!!
I have never shoveled snow or used a blower....I can't even imagine what that's like! Actually, I think I'd love it that way for about a day, just to admire...then get on with other things!

Beautiful sampler, and, of course, I love the cats. :)

Be careful shoveling! You're making great progress on the sampler. Saying prayers for the upcoming dr appointment.

That's a very cute sampler. Don't you hate to go to the Dr. when you have gained a few pounds??!! Believe me, I know how that feels.

You probably already finished this piece--should be interesting to see how close you can come to mimicking the original. Good for you working to lose weight.Hubby has gained about 30 pounds since October,so we joined the rec center in December. We walk the inside track or do the swimming pool track. But I have a fractured big toe now, so no walking as exercise right now. Sad face. Hugs!

Wait till he finds out all the stress you've been under...doctors..I don't like them at all. You exercise and you are doing the best you can, don't worry! Your stitching is beautiful :) Can't wait to see how it comes along! Smile with your sweet kitties!
