When is enough enough?

Hello people.  How's the weekend going?  We had freezing rain with a light dusting of tiny ice balls.  Since my knees are not yet and will never be completely healed from my face plant onto granite, I plan on buying those elastic spike strips to put over my shoes.  Don't need another scene flying through the air.  Easy to slip on over any shoe and when I browsed Amazon, I found IceTrekkers, Stabilicers, Hot Headz traction cleats, Yaktrax for hikers and outdoor workers, a whole mess of styles and options starting here.
But here's my enough.  Floss.  One of every color up to 3830 in a bag, several of each color in envelopes in boxes, and the same in the floss box.  The boxes contain the very old skeins with the black labels and some of those are also in my wood box.  The new ones don't match the old in some shades.  I need to get organized.   I have two more of these wicker trunks, empty and collecting dust.  Why do I have three of them ?
Would I ever use all these colors?  Haven't yet.  Floss is expensive overseas, right?  I thought about a giveaway for shipping costs ($30) but many boxes are lost in transit.  The first time I mailed fabric there, the post office said I must use an international priority mail box.  Wasn't true. It may take some time to go through the old boxes to check inventory and if I decide to offer a set, you'll be the first to know.

I emailed the new owner of Shaker Cat and was surprised to see that the 1985 chart is still available.  Look how cute he is stitched.

Cedar Hill has a lot of nice small designs, mostly floral with alphabet, none of which I had seen before.  There are so many designers and new charts that most of us miss without local shops.

I'm going to the sewing room to count floss now which takes me two stairs away from the chocolate.  Leslie Sansone and I didn't get along at all.  Starting with the easiest DVD, I was out of breath after 5 minutes. We were close years ago.  Keep going!

Thanks for visiting.

I have Stabilicers lite from LL Bean, in bright orange easier to find me if I end up in a snow bank feet sticking up, or just find them is closet. I see Amazon carries them too. Pick a bright color.... I must organize the sewing room a few times a year, I am horrible, I just toss thing in there....bad....Then when it is neat i say " how nice I will keep it this way" Right!. Waiting for new snow coming to New England Tuesday...

The kitty is so cute..
I have one room that I've just thrown things in before and after Christmas. One of these days, when I have the energy, I'm going in that room and clear it out. Goodwill and Salvation Army are going to get a "boat load" of stuff.
I have Leslie's walking tape but it's somewhere is this house. Don't know where.. I should find it and use it.
I hope you don't get a blizzard where you are in Pa. Take care and stay safe.

I love Shaker Cat thanks for sharing. Going to look for her now. Wonder if it's sold here in the UK? Guess not! But hey ho I can order it from somewhere I guess. Times like these I regret not living in the good ol USA where I was born and raised but it's so much calmer here in the UK.

Your posts just crack me up. You are good for my soul.

If you are willing to part with some of your floss I will gladly pay the postage. What a deal that would be for me.

Leslie and I used to get along but not so much the last 4 years.

Hey Marly!
You seem so organized. When the weather is crap there is nothing better to do than floss fondle.

I know all about "too much stash" LOL. I have enough for a few lifetimes and sometimes just feel overwhelmed knowing I'll never use it all. Trying to get back to active blogging again now that the new year has started. Shaker Cat turned out very cute!

You'll never have enough floss!
I don't like the new floss of DMC-it doesn't work as nice as the old numbers.
Love those charts.
Take care

What a collection of floss! I always say I'd love a whole set of DMC, but it would be silly to have one -- I wouldn't want to use it and break the set up! Be careful with the ice.

How nice to have every colour at hand and so well organized ")

I too am a floss junkie. My 3.5 year old grand daughter likes to sort thru the bobbins and we can easily spend an hour talking about color groups and counting. May never use all of the colors but if she learns to love stitching what can I say!

Be careful on the ice. I blew a knee by falling one too many times when we lived in snow country...sheesh!

I think my floss stash is close to yours. Those DVD's are tough to keep up. They make it look so easy until you try to do it . Lol
Love your posts.

My best friend lives in MT and she swears by her Yaktrax. She's not a hiker or outdoor worker but just uses them when going to work and running errands. Happy floss sorting!
