Ann Kitpin reproduction from Threads of Gold
I don't think I've ever used 498 before. Between the border, satin stitch bands, and the large center flower, I think that shade of red will make a striking piece.
You saw this before and I put it aside but it's a good size for a summer project, if we ever have a summer. Today, needing a fleece jacket, high around 63, all week will be very cool and more rain. Except for a few days, the entire month has been ridiculous. My birthday month! The start of my favorite season! One month already gone and it felt like fall. Can't even sit outside on my drenched swing because of the mosquito population from the wet weather. A fan would keep them away but the rain starts in the blink of an eye and I don't need more frizz in my hair from electrocution.
I'm sorry I chose the linen I did because it is 28 count and quite sheer. These bold colors will definitely show thread carry-overs so there will be a lot of tiny fusible or muslin pieces beneath them when I'm finished.
Hope your weeks starts with sunshine.
Thanks for visiting.
p.s. Jeannine520, thanks for the info. I wanted to email you about the easiest way to administer the product but you're no-reply.

Well Marly, I will send you some of my hot weather. We are having a slight reprieve, but the upper 80s are supposed to be returning soon.

Love that sampler, I do love samplers with big flowers! I so wish I could send you our hot and very dry weather. We have a whole state warning for fires with the coming 4th and fireworks!
Beautiful project.
Those colors are beautiful! This will be gorgeous when finished!
I'm in Mississippi--it's in the 90s with horrible humidity......and yet I've lived here all my life!!! I guess I shouldn't complain! We do have beautiful Springs, though!!! Enjoy your cooler weather!! Mosquitoes are the absolute worst thing ever!!!!!
What a beautiful piece Marly! It will be a lot of fun to watch your progress on it. Send some of the doo weather down this way - we won't see temps in the 60's until almost Christmas.
That's a lovely sampler Marley, haven't seen it before. Can send you some of my Winter weather if you like. Last coup,Eiffel days have been quite pleasant.

We had a horribly hot few days last week but are looking forward to some high 80s this week because the humidity will be lower. Those colors are striking! blessings, marlene

Yep, cloudy here too. And my hip tells me rain is on the way today.
Wonderful Sampler!!!
What a pretty sampler. Cool and damp here too. Starting out in the 60s today. I am on summer vacation and I want some summer. Happy Birthday! Enjoy your stitching. Sorry about the linen. I can't work on it so I don't have the problem of thread showing.
Hi Marly,
What a gorgeous sampler!!! I always love to see what you are stitching!!! I actually bought several patterns and some linen to try my hand at cross stitching again!! Not sure when that will happen as I just started rug hooking too, but at least I have it to fall back on!!
I wish I could send you some of our triple digit weather in exchange for your wet and chilly weather!! We desperately need the rain here and having it be a bit cooler would be nice too!! sigh!
Take care and hope you have a good week!
Warm Hugs~
Julie
I love this sampler! So so pretty! The colors are wonderful -- especially that red. So which is your birthday month? July?
Edna Medlin would be so proud to hear you say that about the 498.... A color selection that I know first handed she toyed with changing.... I am sure she's smiling down on you Marley~.... Great start and hopefully soon our typical summer weather will be here! ***Oh! And, Happy Birthday!!***
I love the new project and your stitching is beautiful. I really like how you share the process of getting something right, whether it is the fusible, sizing, etc. I, for one, can relate.
