Greetings folks. I thought this Santa might be a good choice for another skinny sack. This one would be 3" wide and about 8" tall, and since I like the sparse look, something holding a single greenery sprig is appealing. The patriotic aspect is a plus. Not sure if this will be the next project yet, but it would be a simple chart to follow. Since I have no shop to check out overdyed floss colors on my linen choice, I will use two similar shades of DMC for a little shading. Too many times an order is nothing near what I expected, and I run out of the color in those limited skeins.
Of course I changed it. I know making copies is forbidden but it's for my use of the design I purchased, to allow me to see better, to make changes, to color without defacing the chart. I moved up the arms and flag, lengthened the flag and robe. Cut and paste. (Original on the right.)
My husband is outside planting garlic right now, sure hope we get a decent crop next year because there's nothing like fresh garlic. Well...chocolate, but we can't grow that.

He would make a delightful Santa bag. Sometime Marly you should tell how you do the bag. So far, I have been a chicken. Some of the bags look very complex to make.
I like the changes you made in the Santa and think he will make a wonderful sack. I can't believe how quickly you stitch them. I could have done it when I was young but sadly my eyes just aren't that good any more.
Love the new and improved Santa! Proportions are much more pleasing to the eye. Can't wait to see if you will transform that Santa into and Uncle Sam for 4th of July!

In my garden I have a chocalate hydrangea growing with very dark chocolate brown stems--have not taste it yet(lol).

I always make a working copy for my stitching then I destroy it after I finish. I like the changes you made as usual and can't wait to see your stitching.
If you figure out how to grow chocolate please don't share that tip with me...as I sit here eating m&m plain and peanut butter for breakfast along with diet coke. I have the eating habits of a 10 year old kid.

I always love your "adjustments'. I always make a copy for my own use. I fold and mark the copies so much that I need a clean original sometimes. I have yet to work on a winter piece yet, just finishing up " Early Witches" by The Primitive Hare. Her pieces are fun.
Nice Santa choice! I've never been patient enough to grow things, but if you could grow chocolate I think I would give it a try.

I enjoy seeing how you change the patterns - very inspiring. By the way, I thought stitchers are allowed to make a copy as a working copy, for enlargement, etc.

I have always thought that working copies were permitted..... Otherwise I would have to give up stitching because of the size of some of the designs.............
