One more row

and Martha will be done.
Another small will be chosen soon.  I still have those two big girls in my mind but it's not the right time.

After working Virginie to fit a square box, I tried Sally.  Got her reduced to fit but not sure if I can work the photo to be clear enough.  I am planning on purchasing a nice camera and want it all automatic.

Earlier today we went to my sister's for her grandson's birthday.  I baked the cake as always, and this time made one of my favorite icings.  The first time I made it was many moons ago for the Italian Love cake.  That cake takes a lot of ricotta and it's fabulous.  I like light and not overly sweet icing and this old standard fits the bill.  One small Jello instant pudding (chocolate) beat with 1 cup of milk for 2 minutes, then fold in 8 oz Cool Whip until blended well.  Love it and I always have the items on hand.

We came home and husband started cutting a rotisserie chicken for use in recipes.  Men.  No matter how many times I tell him to put a wet dishrag under the cutting board, he doesn't.  The board moves and slides all over the place!  Put the damn wet cloth beneath and it won't move, but no.  He'd rather mumble about it sliding.

It's so warm and wonderful today even though gloomy.  I need to take Carole to doc appt's this week so I'm glad there will be no snow.  I told her to drive her car to my house and I will take the wheel from there, rather than picking her up.  I can't wait to be behind the wheel of my old Escape.

I put the six red boxes on the Sampler Box tab this afternoon and there will only be six.  It takes me quite a while to two coat and varnish the interior and then three aged coats on the outside, the sealer, then the wax.  I can't just slap a label on it so no additional orders will be taken.  Sorry.  I get so many requests after an item sells out and I have usually obliged but I just can't keep doing that.   If I see a big demand for a particular item, I will try to have a second offer, as a batch.

Enjoy your day - stay safe!

Ooooo....I'm in love with Martha.... Always have been a sucker for redwork....The linen you're stitching her on is absolutely marvelous!! Did someone say cake??? Jotted down your icing recipe...sounds yummy....hopefully I'll remember what I did with it when "the time comes." In the unlikely event there is any cake left over, I would assume you need to refrigerate it?? Anywho...glad I popped in for a visit. I pulled up my neglected ol' blog today and say that I had lost 15 followers in the course of a week. I thought I was better off NOT blogging than blogging again...but yeah, now I remember hearing things about Blogger forcing out those without a Google account. Dang...I'm so confused at this point... I set up a gmail account so my comments on other blogs won't get sent back to me undeliverable, but now those with AOL and hotmail accounts get bounced back. Plus, I forget I have a gmail account most days, so now I don't see responses to comments. Eeek. This is getting too complicated for this bird brain. Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin

Martha looks great and I love the DMC choice! Your frosting recipe sounds almost like my chocolate pie recipe. 1 graham cracker pie crust, 1 large chocolate jello instant pudding. Mix pudding as directed & pour into pie crust. Let chill. Before serving, ice with Cool Whip and crumble broken up Oreo cookies on top. The boys loved it when they were little and it was simple and cheap. They still love it. Back to your post! I have a huge butcher block cutting board that dh made for me. Now I want butcher block counters like I had at our old house! Love Love Love butcher block!

I love this sampler! I found the pattern at my LNS and they had the same linen too. I just may have to stitch this really soon and maybe in red. Yours is so lovely! I love the boxes too!

Love your blog!! I have been following you for awhile and this is the first time I have commented. I was in your neck of the woods, East Palenstine this weekend, and I went over to Bridgewater to the Covered Bridge Needle Arts store. You have inspired me to pick up the needle again and start stitching. Keep on posting I love to see your projects!

Your cake sounds delicious, Marly--and what a great frosting idea. Will have to give it a try...

Can't imagine life without rotisserie chickens :) We do the same thing--cut it up and freeze in portions for future meals. What a time saver!

Your Martha is looking great--hope February is filled with lots of stitching/creative time for you.
