Well, I thought I was finished

But the 613 has to go.  From a short distance, there is no definition of the skin, brows, and beard. I used the same thread as charted but it doesn't look it.

Not sure if adding a 3/4 stitch of white around the eyes was the right move, but regardless, it has to go. 644 or 822 may be the color but I won't know until I pull the floss.  The linen color really has nothing to do with it.  So disappointed.  I tried several darker and lighter shades for the face but nothing created enough contrast.

But the bright spot, I learned about 3864 which was never a contender for fleshtone.  I'm so glad I finally made a trip to JoAnn's and purchased this color to follow the chart because I've always disliked the very pinkish face color of my PS Santas.  This shade is perfect.  Pink but not really, tan but not really. This will be my Santa face color from now on, no more pink predicaments.

And as we think about our blessings at Thanksgiving, I have a request.  Stop the fricking hate speech.  I am sick and tired of hearing about division from people that insult, name call, and CREATE even more than we have experienced these last several years.  I know people that voted for Trump (one is my 92 year old aunt), some lifelong Democrats in their 80's, that have given to others their entire life. They do not deserve to be called racists, idiots, ignorant.  It is their right, just as it is yours, to vote their choice. If you want your right respected then start respecting theirs. Those that call people dividers and haters can't see that they are the same. If the outcome was reversed, and Trump won the popular vote, would you still insist the electoral college be thrown out?  Please don't divide your friends and family over this.

Rules for this year's holiday - turkeys free of hormones and antibiotics, dinners free of politics, guests free of insults, children free of hateful displays, hearts free of hostility.

Thanks for visiting.
Have a blessed Thanksgiving.

Santa is very cute.

What have you got to say about the demonstrators? Are you including them too?
8 years ago, I do not remember these goings on when BO won.

Peace for All,
Barb

I like how you changed the eyes, but I have to agree that the colors of the face and eyebrows look nothing like the photo. So sorry you have to frog. I agree with you about the divisiveness that is occurring. Those you are calling others bigots are basically doing the same thing. We need to respect those with differing views being politics, religion or anything else. That is how peace comes about.

...and a dessert free of cat hair (not possible in our house).

Wise words. Happy Thanksgiving, and Santa doesn't look so bad--maybe as if he has a head cold. I think I'd leave him as is; nothing's perfect in life, and life's too short to frog.

Hi Marly: I do like the whites around his eyes but it is your Santa, either way he is adorable, maybe if you add some French knots in a lighter color, I hate French knots but maybe?
I am with you I am so tired of hate, we have the Minneapolis Star Tribune paper here in Minnesota, one of the contributing writers had so much hate it is awful, he is a Democrat and said in his article he is not inviting any of his Republican friends to Thanksgiving, his words are: I do not want to share my gravy with these people, so sad I do not care who someone voted for I am just happy to live in this Country.
Thank-you for a great post.

Happy Thanksgiving
Catherine

I am so with you Marly. I wonder if the people who have posted so much nasty things realize they are talking to many of us no matter who we voted for. I,too, am very sick of it! I will be taking a good look at 3864 as I don't like the pink faces on Santas.

It's unbelievable how the hate continues these weeks later. I agree with you. Santa is looking nice. I have noticed the very pink faces of the PS Santa's. I would be looking for something different too.

I like how your Santa is turning out, Marly. Will have to keep that DMC color in mind for flesh tones.

Peace and blessings to you and yours! Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope your Thanksgiving is a Blessed one Marly. I love your Rules for Thanksgiving. Unfortunately, I am headed to the in-laws, where my MIL lives to debate politics. I am going to chew and chew and chew and remain silent and bite my tongue if necessary.

I discovered 3864 years ago when I embroidered a doll and could not find the
delicate hue I sought for the face...Once I did, I have used 3864 ever since for flesh tone..in fact I found a nail polish of that shade which elongates the appearance of the fingers.
I find the hate baiters to be sadly immature and misguided. Can you imagine existing on that level 24/7? Must be exhausting. They seem lacking in the experience of give and take and demonstrate the bias and close mindedness they attribute to others...What was that song, "Put a little love in your heart" ??? A good one to sing around the Thanksgiving table... A very blessed one to you and
yours, Marly.

I also am so sick of all the hate speech and demonstrations and badmouthing. It is certainly time for us to come together and do what is good for our country and act like real Americans again. We have totally forgotten how we are to treat others. So sad.
