Hello people! How's everyone? Hopefully well and safe.
While browsing Pinterest, I saw a few heart finishes for Christmas and thought .... as Arsenio does .... hmmmmm. Not a lot of stitching involved and easy to choose the heart size with linen counts, small for ornaments and large ones for knob hangers. For me, that's a good thing since my stitching desire does not seem to be returning. I started this blog for encouragement to return to the needle, and if I close it, I will stop stitching. At this point, it's keeping me going, not ready to throw in the towel yet!

These others may also have been seen before, but as always, new to me! I don't care for printed linen but these dots make an adorable heart, so I'll be ordering some along with the checked. Just throw it on the pile of counts and colors that are sitting, waiting, hoping to be made into something glorious (or grungy). You can adapt or use any design for a heart as shown in these great pieces. So if you're tired of the Prairie Schooler tree, how about a heart tree?
So many more on Pinterest but I should finish the Santa first. Not an easy stitch since I am winging it. I played with the photos but never created a chart to follow so ..... he will be a combination of all three choices in the end. Just working on the outline in half cross so I can easily remove or change as needed.

Heart designs are a favorite of mine and I really enjoyed seeing all of these beauties! I am so happy that no matter how you might feel, you just keep posting and creating!! It TRULY is good for not only your heart, but for all of us who enjoy your blog!! So... TAKE HEART, my friend!!

I have not seen these heart either and they are absolutely darling! What a good idea to do a tree in lots of hearts. I like the idea also of the various fabrics as backgrounds. I would have never thought of using them, but they make a gorgeous finished product. Thanks for sharing today!

I like those hearts! Good idea for a tree! As for the dotted fabric... just did a design on a piece of the grey/white combo. My opinion: stitching through the painted on hearts is not my fave. Not impossible, but a bother, kinda tough. Just my thoughts! Sending the project to my sister for Christmas, but I MAY stitch on that fabric again for me. Thanks for inspiring us with all those hearts! Now go stitch on Santa! Hugs!
This is a great post. I have seen the polka dot linen before and like you would not choose it. However the way the heart is done with the holly leaves is very nice. Sometimes simple is best and it is rather a simple design that is not too distracting. Thank you for the ideas! I am glad you are still stitching. My eyes at age 63 are not good and I ocassionally worry about losing my site as I age. I can work with 40 count though with just a 3 reading glass but bought a 5 or 6 reading glasses and it is so easy to see. Can't see anything else out of those coke bottle 6 reading glasses but 40 count is a breeze. 40 count is my favorite but I am doing an Easter pillow by Brenda Gervais done on Ariosa 22 count that is lovely to work with. It is a soft fabric. It is the third pillow of hers I am working on. I did the House of Blues and Browns from Brenda and it is lovely. I also did her Santa pillow and it too is so nice. So I hope to see more of your beautiful home and work. If I lived closer I would love to meet you and try some of your Polish cooking. My grandfather's family was from Bohemia, dark skinned people. But since my Norwegian grandmother, his wife, did the cooking no Polish dishes ever passed these lips. I hope your Christmas is blessed and eventful because as much as you say you are a crabass I get the feeling you like to keep your hand in things and be active!

I love your heart photos, Marly--great finds--very inspirational, too! I have yet to try a heart shape--I'm a big chicken and tend to stick within my comfort zone (if you haven't figured that out yet!!). I bought some of the polka dot linen, not sure how I feel about it yet as I haven't tried it.
I love the hearts - I love the ones you've done in the past, but I'm afraid to sew rhem myself!
