Mojoitis

That's what I have.  Mojoitis.  I am trying to start the heart, having decision issues, and that throws water on the few embers left.

I started with the Charcoal Belfast and for some reason, I can't see well enough to be comfortable.  Using 3.0 mags and I am still hitting the wrong hole, searching, ending one thread off.  Over and over and over.  So I decided to move on to my standby unbleached stiff linen, which means thread color changes, again.  I get so frustrated with the time and effort involved to START a project, that it dampens my enthusiasm.  Happening now.

So I went back to the Pinterest photo, threw it into Paint, and removed the diamond elements as I did with the black background.  Guess what?  I think it looks just fine.  The stark black accented every stitch but with a lighter background, I like it either way.  So do I follow the chart and change nothing?  It would be easier.  I can leave the diamonds for last and add or not.  This is the photo that made me want to stitch this design and I should have referred to it sooner.  I think it may be WDW Gunmetal linen, and I probably have it.
I create my own problems by making changes.  There are times when stitching should be just stitching.  Not rearranging, not overthinking, not planning something different.  Just stitch.  Pick up the freaking needle and go with it.  If you don't like it, move to something else, make a minor change, but don't let it get to the point of ruining the enjoyment.  My last several projects were changed without charting and they weren't easy. Right now, I need to pick up a simple chart and follow the recommended linen and threads.

It was high 60's today and Friday will be 30. We took Carole to the doc in torrential rains and winds, he was pleased with her progress, and impressed with the size of my cold sore.

Thanks for visiting.

Marly: Oh no a cold sore, I hope it is starting to go away.
I am so happy to hear Carole is doing better, good for her yahoo.
I like the photo without the stars, for me it would be to busy with all the stars, but hey that's just me.
I have been where you are when starting a new design, I put it away and come back to it, then start a new design.
I wish we had 60 or even 30 degree weather it is a very cold -12 degrees, so far no wind.

Blessings
Catherine

At least the sun is shining this morning in northern Ohio and the torrential rains are over.
I don't think you will ever change but your work always turns out beautifully.
Glad things are going better for Carole.
Hugs :)

I always felt that when something needs to be done in needs to be done in a big way. Do your best, work hard, and be strong. So all I can say about your giant impressive cold sore is you sound like me. So then I thought big impressive and being strong is not all that and there is something to be said for small simple relaxing kind of things and felt sorry for you. But then it occurred to me that you are making a massive amount of antibodies with this cold sore and it is probably never going to happen to you again. Right? I mean right? Aren't cold sores for children only?!!! Wishing you small simple relaxing things Marly. Think small, think tiny!

I like the one without the diamonds. My eyes seem to relax and I can see the motifs better. The diamonds are distracting - at least to me.
Hope you feel better and that the cold sore goes away soon. I get those things too. Ever since I was a kid. That's a long time ago. Thanks for sharing.

I would just stitch the pattern the way it is, after all, that is what drew you to it to begin with. I once had someone tell me that "it's all about the journey", so I try to make my journey relaxing and fun, not complicated. This is just the way I like it, but you need to consider what makes you feel good and works for you. I hope you find a way that you enjoy, and is good for you. Glad Carole is improving, and I hope your cold sore soon goes away! Blessings to you, and may you have happy days of stitching...................

Which one can you live with and gives you pleasure?? Your simplification seemed to please you. I still think that although the dark background is striking, the
"pinterest" version has a more primitive hue.... Good news about Carole and hope
your cold sore disappears soon....

Well, the cold sore signals a sickness is coming... get plenty of rest!! Glad Carole is improving... What diamonds?!? I looked 3 times before I saw them!! Long day... what can I say?! I have been known to do a 'Shirlee' when something doesn't look right on a piece I am stitching. At least you keep trying! Hugs!

LOL ... oh dear ... read your subject line much too fast and then wondered why you were drinking mojitos since somehow that doesn't seem your style (or perhaps that last glass of wine I poured was overgenerous?). Oh well, haven't got many things right today so why start now?

I like the linen in the pinterest picture (though it looks bluish to me) and am sure you don't need to go as dark as the gunmetal. Still looks lovely withOUT the diamonds - maybe toss in just one if there seems to be too much open space... Yes, just picking up something and stitching sounds like an excellent idea.

Good to hear Carole is doing better. Erm ... hope cold sore decides to high tail it soon!
