Starting small

Greetings!  Freezing my arse off this morning on a sunny day covered in white.  May go out this afternoon but care package and meds were delivered yesterday so all is good.  Chris had a meeting at the Firehouse and stopped afterwards to pick up the food and take it to her.  Did not want to attempt that driveway!  I thank you and am touched by your concern and kind words regarding Carole but I really don't want to seem like I am expecting sympathy or praise for helping out.  There is no one else to help!  I'm it.  No choice! My brother is obsessive and will come in an emergency but we never request his help for errands.  He'll help any time, if it's scheduled and the roads are clear!   Wait ......

That phone call was from Carole. Last night she took a Tramadol because of muscle soreness from coughing and slept!  Good.  Said she sees a bit of improvement today, then hung up because she couldn't stop coughing.  Starting the new glucose meds today. We'll be taking her back to the doc Monday for follow-up, it's just going to take time to recover as with everyone that has contracted this bug.

So here's my plan.  I stitched this little design (even the over one) many years ago and the tiny tuck is still one of my favorites.  So I want to do it again on different linen.  The skinny scrap I pulled is Copper Penny and after looking at it, decided to work the design into an improvised sampler.  A little longer than my first one, and with added stitches.  Not sure how it will come out, not graphing it, who knows what will happen as I move along.   But this way, I get to stitch it again without it being the same as my other.  Does that make sense?

We'll see!

Thanks for visiting!

I have this bug & coughing so much. Never knew you could have so much mucus. My blood pressure was over the roof. It will take me a long time to recover. Love your blog.

I hope Carole is improving daily. So scary. She is lucky to have you.
Is that A B even charted or is that your addition. I enlarged but could not see it.
Cold and white here, too. UGH!

Frigidly cold and blastedly white here too (hey....since when is "blastedly" not a word??) It was -19 when I finally had the courage to look. That hacking bug is being passed around here in Nod too.... Every cold I have seems to turn into bronchitis and/or a sinus infection so I was scared when I got sick last week...but so far, I haven't been coughing...knock on wood. Glad you got something started...but I'm having the same question as Lauren....I enlarged the pattern and saw no A or B like that....I know you said you were adding to it, but jeepers, I'd hate to think what my letters would look like if I just decided to ad lib them.... Stay warm and creative... Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin

Still think you are a good sister. I do know what you mean. It seems in families, there is one person who does the care-taking. My DH and I were the ones for my step-mom. I love that new design. It will be fun to see what you do with it.

So sorry Carole has been doing so poorly. Hope the improvement she feels is real and she is on the road to recovery.

I really hope that Carole is on the mend; it has to be so tiring to feel sick all of the time. And I know that you grow weary with the load you are carrying. I hope all of you can soon enjoy each day. I can't wait to see what your Chessie and Me project will look like. Keep us posted. Blessings to all of you.....................

No sympathy or praise, Marly--just my sincere feelings that you are a wonderful sister to Carole, in my book. Not every family has its "kind" people--people who just have a sense to do what's right. So, she is very lucky...

Have fun with this second stitching :) And--stay warm!
