Holy sacrum!

This will be short, but not sweet.  This weekend, I bent over to get something from a bottom drawer while in an off balance position.  I could not return to an upright stance.  Doctor feels it is the sacrum, the bottom part of the spine that takes the weight and distributes it through the hips and pelvis.   Believe me, it is distributing.  The pain is unbearable, I cannot sit, lie, or bend, getting in the car requires Mark to lift my legs and wipe my tears.  Going again tomorrow morning, but not much he can do.  I am exhausted from standing.

Can't do much stitching or sewing that's for sure, but I went through charts and decided on Ann Stone (oldie) from R&R Reproductions, or Mary Monier from The Examplarery.  When I subscribed to SANQ before it discontinued, they offered downloads of prior issues and there were several that I liked.  But all were lost when the Dell bit the dust.  I don't know how long I will be in this condition, but I do know that Advil for the first time, is not helping.

We've had warm and sunny days,  I can't even sit on my swing.  I walk around outside with a cane, hunched over as if I am looking for bugs.

 Hope everyone is doing well.

Oh! Marly! What the hell? You poor thing. I wish I lived closer so I could help you. I work at the YMCA and have learned from so many that you can be fine one second and you just reach or bend wrong and you are in for great pain & suffering. I hope this Dr. can at least give you something for the pain. Keep us informed. I'm sending cyber hugs your way.

I am so sorry to hear that you are unwell. You are such a good caregiver, and now you need some care yourself. I sincerely hope that your pain can be relieved to the extent that you are at least able to comfortably stitch while you heal. Prayers are coming your way.

I am praying Marly. See if he can order/prescribe you to see a physical therapist. A PT can fix you up. You can sit on rolled towels placed under your thighs like \ / so your sacrum does not touch down. That may work.

I am so sorry for your situation. I fully understand. I find that a rocking chair makes it a bit better. At least better enough that I can stitch a bit. Best wishes.

So sorry to hear that. I agree with a PT or even a chiropractor. Find a good one by getting recommendations from friends. Feel better soon.

Marly, I'm so very sorry for your pain and hope things get better soon. Glad Mark is there to wipe your tears and help you get around. Take care of yourself and I think lots of Dove Dark Chocolate will be a best medicine ever.

Hi Marly, Sorry to hear you are in such pain. See if your doctor will refer you to a physical therapist. There are exercises and modalities that should help relieve your pain. I have worked for one for over 20 years and am amazed to see what he can do to make patients feel better. Wishing you a speedy recovery!

Back pain is such a pain!!!! I have a chiropractor I have used several times when my back has gone out. I feel almost instant relief and with no meds. I hope you feel better today and if not perhaps try a chiropractor. . .they are similiar to a physical therapist but I've had better results with the chiro.

Although I do not drink, I think this calls for a Martooni party
with you and all your caring followers ...you would be pain free in
no time if it is up to us. In the meantime, cold and hot packs...
and a rub in of Theragesic might penetrate sufficiently to give relief.
Praying you improve and get back to your stitching.

Yes... I do know what you mean. I had an "X-Stop" titanium device surgically placed in my lower back. It gave me back my life. I had to crawl to get around but, I did find relief laying down. So sorry for you as I am relating.
Keeping you in my prayers to find a solution.

Peace and Blessings, Barb

Oh Marly, I'm so very sorry for your plight. I suffer from severe back pain periodically and know how debilitating it can be. Are you managing to get any sleep? Get hold of the strongest painkillers you can, don't be afraid to take them to help you through this crisis and try to rest.
Gentle hugs heading your way from Normandy xx

Oh no! Hopefully you'll get some relief soon. I know what you mean about Advil; it helps me sleep and for headaches but anything more painful, forget about it. Take care.

This happened to me some time ago, (not really sure what I did to cause it). Doc gave me a med called "Flexeral" and I used one of those IcyHot TENS units. I didn't think it would work, but it really did for me.

Back pain is such an overwhelming problem! You can't get away from it. I too have had good luck with chiropractors. Best when found one recommended by friend. Also have you tried Arnica gel? Good for muscles and bruises. We always try it, don't think it can hurt and it doesn't smell bad to me. Will be hoping you are more comfortable soon.
