Not the gray ones. Back to the 28 count two threads over two which is what I started stitching with, but haven't for quite some time. Rough unbleached linen and two wonky threads. Using the tail ends method (what I call having the needle in the center of a single thread length) is really helping to keep my thread even. As long as I turn the needle to unwind the twist or let it hang every few stitches. I tried railroading as I have before but it's aggravating when I have to fidget between the threads which are always crossed over each other.
And who knew? I had no idea there is a solution to fading computer keys. My year old Dell has lost almost all paint and it bugs me to not see the letters. You can see after the B how faded they were.
But look at the other keys that I have already put the new labels on! Bigger, sharper, great. I found them on EBay for a few bucks. Just pull them off the backing and apply. Some of the larger command key labels must be cut out since those keys are sized differently.
Well I have a very nice keyboard, but no printer. I was printing the shipping label to mail the mounted sampler, after putting in new ink because the print was hit and miss, and guess what? Yep. Died. After putting in the new ink!!! Second time in two weeks. As I said, done with HP. There is no printer that uses this ink cartridge number, just like the last one. Can any manufacturer just wise up and use the same for the majority of their models? Ridiculous. I need to check with the post office if they will accept this streaked label or the faded blue one.
That's all I got. It's fricking cold. My slump is worsening, forcing myself to stitch. This has been going on for a long while and I wonder how and when it will end. Or will I end it?

I kinda like stitching over 2 on 28 count. It's a nice break on my ancient eyes after stitching on 36 ct with a magnifier and cheater glasses. I like that sampler you're working on.
I used to railroad all my stitches until I tried Vonna's method. You go down the hole with the point of your needle and up in the next hole with the eye of the needle. You never twist your needle so it eliminates the need to drop your needle to let the thread untwist. It's brilliant. And the stitches lay flat and are pleasantly plump! (Unless you have a tension issue like I do).
And as far as that Steeler game....I agree, what the H*ll was that!
Railroading drives me nuts! That's why i stick to higher counts and use 1 strand, though the higher counts are getting harder to see. Maybe I'll give this method a try.
So what is railroading? I will have to check this out.
I have a dell too and have not noticed my keys fading. I should go take another look as I am using my ACER that I have in the kitchen. Will let you know.
I think your new sampler is lovely. 28 count is nice and easy on the eyes. I have thought about trying 36 count so I can use just one thread but I do like good coverage so not sure that will work for me.
This winter weather has me down too, Marly, and I don't have the cold like you do! I'm so tired of the gray icky damp mess that they call weather. Maybe try something like needlepunching or rug hooking for a break and you'd still be doing something creative. Spring is coming, hang in there.

I haven’t seen those stickers for keyboards either. It sure is a good idea! I do like the colors in the sampler – very pretty! This weather is really getting to me! Yesterday at five o’clock in the morning it was 11°. We had our second snow for this winter this week – Unbelievable for Mississippi! Yet this weekend, they expect the high to be 70°! Crazy!
Just figuring out printer cartridges is so ridiculous. Not great for the environment either. (Yes, I carry my yarn from letter to letter or word to word. Are you kidding? lol!)
Well, my HP printer is doing quite well. BUT my year-old HP laptop is a piece of junk. Three hardware repairs in one year!! Never again! And until this week, it was da@@ cold here too!
